Miami Heat second in the Eastern Conf.

Pheonix first in the west

Denver doing better than expected??

How **** Cleveland and New Orleans are.

Gerald Wallace averaging 14 rebounds????

And yes Cleveland is ***** they only beat Minnesota, Charlotte, New York, and Washington. They lost to every team that is not below average ( that they played against).

For me it's Phoenix being 7-1. Everyone is relatively healthy, and that pick and roll between Stat and Nash looks better than ever. 20 assists?!?!?! Unreal.

November 10, 2009  09:56 AM ET

Phoenix is a bit of a surprise. But they are playing like back in D'Antoni's days. Playing great offense, but their defense is just mediocre. They will not be able to survive a 7 game series against the elite teams in the league that are bigger and deeper. And we all know defense wins ball games.

Im a die hard cavs fan and I agree with you starkilla becuase its suppose to be LeBron and Shaq?? This is the best star matchup and there are no real wins??

November 10, 2009  01:40 PM ET

How **** Cleveland and New Orleans are. We are still less than 10 games into the season its a little too early to judge teams that made major changes sometimes take as long as midseason to gel. I think its a little to early especially in Clevlands case to judge anything

November 10, 2009  01:45 PM ET

Clevlands goal is to try to win a Championship this year they are still experimenting with lineups, still experimenting with ways to run there offense, deffensive rotations etc.. Im sure if the kept to what they did last year they would be smashing these meodicore teams there goal is no longer to win 63 games they want a championship and there suffering now to achieve a goal later

True, but I'm talking about right, they aren't really looking like a championship caliber team

I think both Starkilla and UG1 make good points here. Yes, some teams are a surprise so far--for better or worse. However, I also agree that the season is long and November games don't mean that much. Cleveland has plenty of time to figure things out, although what will hurt them the most is not getting as many wins as Orlando or Boston. If it comes down to a game 7 in the playoffs, the home team wins about 85% of the time and I am not going to bet against Orlando or Boston in a game 7...

November 11, 2009  08:45 AM ET

True in the end the home court does mean so much considering the compitition but remember last year Clevland had hm crt throughout and tons of rest because they took care of business early the first 2 rounds and still were easily beat in Conf.. yes home court adv is big but its not the most important thing right now. I think they want to be prepared to match what ever Boston or Clevland can bring and they are doing alot of experimenting right now home court will probally be decided in the last month of the season i dont think any1 is gonna run away with this anyway

I think everyone expected Denver to be good... Cleveland will bounce back, big test tomorrow night in Miami

I agree. We all know the suns can't defend. No shock there. The team is not built to get stops which was evident in last night's game. There's no "shut down" defender on the roster. They want to pump Dudley up as a good defender but that remains to be scene.

BJ was projected to be good, I feel bad for TO because they missed their shot at him and Ty Lawson but I understand why. Calderon was/is performing well enough to be a startwer on 90% of teams but Jennings is showing flashes of A.I. back in the day. Ty makes my boys in Denver have a deeper bench and don't have to let Anthony Carter play anymore. If I knew how to post vids I would put up his dunk against the Lakers last night. 2nd best dunk this week.

the biggest surprise is how far off Starkilla is in his assessment of the cavs. You can add Orlando, Miami and Utah to that list. Way to jump the gun on insulting the Cavs.

By *** I meant performing loweer than their expectations. You live in Ohio, tell me, do you honestly beleive the Cavs are performing as good as Lakers, Denver, Boston r SanAntonio. Heck even Atlanta is looking better.

Brandon Jennings + 55 pts= ROOKIE OF THE FCKIN YEAR

November 18, 2009  02:55 PM ET

I think it all goes down to how many fundamental changes they made during the off season.
And Cavs was the top team that changed most.

They are experimenting now, and righfully so.
COmes playoffs time, and they WILL be in the playoffs, then they will have done their homework.
I rather see them struggling now than not testing and being exposed during playoffs.

November 18, 2009  04:19 PM ET

I don't think the Heat are such a big surprise.
With Riley at the helm you could expect that the rebuilding would go fast.
They added two veterans in Arroyo and Richardson and we know veterans are good for a young team.

I do think they will hit a bit of a wall beginning next year but they will certainly make the playoffs as a fifth or sixth seed.

No, I don't think they are playing to their potential yet. They are still trying to figure out their lineup changes and who works the best with each other. Still have one of the best records in the East. If it were late season and we were playing like this I would be worried. Then again, how can anyone worry if they have one of the top 3 players in the NBA.
