Fans of the SEC  > Fans of the SEC Message Board  > Is LSU as bad as they looked against UF or was it just a case of a bad game against a good team?

For me personally I think it was just a case of a bad game against a good team. I know Francios did not play, but to be perfectly honest defensive tackles usually don't have much of an effect on sweeps and outside runs to start with so I don't think he would have had an effect on the running game. The lack of being there though did allow Florida to double team Tyson Jackson to seal him off on running plays in his direction as well as keep him off of Tebow to allow for the passes. LSU's biggest weakness coming into the season was the secondary and Tebow was able to expose them. If Auburn would have had a 100 percent healthy Chris Todd he may have also been able to expose the secondary in their game. Auburn is another subject for another board though. LSU's biggest concern better be how to keep the defense healthy because Florida isn't the best offensive line they will see this season that distinction belongs to Alabama.
Alabama's offensive line could probably open holes in the NFL and lead a running back to an MVP. They have some big horses on that offensive line. They are outstanding run blockers and above average pass blockers in my opinion. This is as a group. I still like Miles though just because he has the testicular fortitude to go for it on 4th down in situations other coaches wouldn't. The question is does he do that because he is an idiot and doens't know any better or does he just have supreme confidence in his team to be able to make the first downs?
