NCAAF  > California Golden Bears  > DEJA VU, THE CALIFORNIA FOLDEN BEARS
December 5, 2009, 09:17 PM
The final game of the year 8-3 Bears vs 4-7 Huskies. Cal started the day in 5th place. USC has lost to Arizona, now all Cal has to do is win and they will move into second place in the Pac-10 and go to the Holiday Bowl or Sun Bowl.
What is Cals problem with success? a couple of years ago Cal had the opportunity to move into the #1 Seed in the nation, all the dominoes had fallen and presented them with this perfect opportunity. Cal crumbled.
This year Cal started the season ranked #12 in the country and given a good chance of going to the Rose Bowl , after being blown out by Oregon and USC and then Oregon St. they were knocked out of the Top 25 altogether. Now they are back in #19 but only moved back into the top 20 with a win over Stanford. After this pasting by Washington Cal should go to their rightful ranking of #35-45.
Jeff Tedford and the University of California seem content on proving their worth with wins over Stanford every year, then going to third, forth, or fifth class Bowl games. Tedford has made a living at being mediocre. All those Bowl game wins, Big Deal Jeff, they were against 4th and 5th place teams in weaker conferences.
You have yet to acknowledge that your defensive coordinator Bob Montgomery sucks.
Your special teams coach sucks.
I 'm not going to put down Andy Ludwig, this being his first year.
Cal trails Washington 21-3 at half time, is the game over? Probably, I won't know until tomorrow since I can't bear to watch anymore. It looks like Cal will go from potential 2nd place to 6th place in the Pac-10. But no one cares right? After all they did beat Stanford, who by the way will now finish ahead of Cal in the standings.
When was the last time Cal brought in a top football recruit? Berkley is a beautiful location to go to school. The rest of the Pac-10 is getting noticeably stronger through recruiting and coaching changes, Cal is now going in the opposite direction, The only Pac-10 team they might expect to beat next year is Washington St..
Tedford clearly isn't doing his job. He is more suitable as the Governor of California than the Coach of California.
