NFL  > San Francisco 49ers  > 49ers ending season as expected,sort of.

I for one never expected the 49er's to produce anything better than a 7-9 season. With four weeks to go thats were they are heading. The 3-0 start got everyone all excited, and it even looked like maybe they would fulfill Singletary's prediction of them making the playoffs. As it turned out the loss to the Seahawk's and Arizona's win has slammed the door shut on that hope and has made next Monday night game against the Card's less interesting.
Someone must have convinced Jimmy Raye that his plan to have Gore as the focus of the offense was a bad idea, putting all your apples in one basket. I wasn't expecting the mid-season QB change, followed by new spread offense. I guess Jimmy Rayes doing anything to save his job. But the fact remains that he is not a very good game planner and for that matter not a very good season planner. What the 49ers need is a dominant Safety, Quarterback, Defensive End, Cornerbacks for starters.
