Yup, you know you're gonna see him......Tuukka....Rask! He currently has a .932% and a 1.97 GAA to go along with 9 wins and 2 losses. The guy can flat out play. He's as sharp as a tack, and he's as efficient as at the butterfly as Hugh Hefner is at picking up chicks. Translation? The guy can flat out play, he makes it loom easy in the process. He's making it hard for Julien to keep on starting Tim Thomas.

The other candidate......Semyon Varlamov........with a gaudy 12-1-2 mark...is hard to over-look...not only that, he has a 2.21 GAA and a .924%. Very impressive indeed. Yup, i dont know too much about him, just the stats.

The last candidate? Yup, John Tavares...with 15 goals in 33 games to go along with 27 points. He's on pace for 37 goals and 67 points. He's an expert at tapping home the empty net goal..EXPERT. 37 goals for a rookie is very impressive...not the best, but impressive nonetheless.

Honorable mention? Tyler Myers. Has 18 points in 31 games played......for a defencemen...he's on pace for a 47 point season. Rookie D hardly ever win it, but the kid can skate well for a big man (6'7') and he's poised with the puck. Writers everywhere are taking notice of the man-child.

Who takes it home? I'm biased so i cant tell objectively...i think its a toss up really...if Rask can get enough starts and have a .925% +....he has an excellent shot...if Varlamov can do pile up the wins and save percentage...he has an excellent case too.....yup.....the lead dog (by a sliver) is Tavares.

Tough rookie class man.
