NCAAF  > General NCAAF  > Texas unworthy of playing in title game
December 16, 2009, 05:49 PM
--Texas played a thoroughly Patsy schedule (ranked 52 by BCS) in a weak conference. None of its opponents are currently ranked above 20 by AP. It barely nipped Oklahoma, Nebraska, and A&M. The defense is porous.
--Some observers see comparisons to 2005, when the Longhorns were dismissed as an unworthy underdog. This argument is off the mark. Texas played Ohio St. in 2005 instead of a gaggle of nonconference I-AA schools, and Young & Co. blew everybody away in the regular season except A&M.
-TCU should be playing Alabama on Jan. 7.
