Missouri State sophomore guard Cardell McFarland was released by the Missouri State basketball team Saturday afternoon for unspecified team violations.

The Evansville native played in five of the team???s first 11 games, scoring 25 points with 7 rebounds and 8 assists. He missed three games with a knee contusion suffered in the Tulsa game on Nov. 28 and had been in uniform for the Bears??? last three games, but did not play.
