NFL  > San Francisco 49ers  > What will 2010 bring

8-8 big deal, you only beat one team over .500 Arizona 2x. You were 5-1 in the NFC WEST and that 1 big loss to Seattle came when it meant the most, right before the Monday night game against Arizona, and may have given them a possible 1st place finish in the NFC WEST. The 49ers most glaring problem is the offense, and they decided to give Alex Smith another chance when he started the second half of the Houston game and scored 3 TDs to Vernon Davis, and thus became his favorite receiver. Smith is still uneasy in the pocket and has a tendency to throw behind, and above receivers, these problems must be apparent to the coaches because the fans are well aware of these problems, they have even changed their offense from Pro set to a spread offense the kind Smith played in college. One of the glaring problems of the offense is its inability to capitalize on turnovers. The offense was only able to score +24 pts, 3x, and 2 of those games were against the Rams,35, 28, and when they scored 27 against the Titans they still lost the game. Jimmy Raye is clearly not the offensive coordinator of the future, but will be brought back next year despite fan disapproval. The 49ers will draft #13 and #16 in the 1st round of the 2010 draft, 2 positions of concern on defense will be Safety, Left defensive end. 2 positions on offense would be OT, QB. The schedule for the 49ers in 2010 will be tougher than it was in 2009. They play the NFC EAST and the AFC WEST in 2010, how will they do against -.500 teams like Washington, Oakland, Kansas City. Will the 49ers be able to maintain their dominance of the NFC WEST?
