I wrote basically the same thing in a T&R thread today, but there was a post about the Giants signing Aubrey Huff to a 1 year, $3 Million contract.

I've always liked Huff and if the terms are true, I don't understand why Mozeliak wouldn't have been involved with this guy. To me, he could potentially fill a few different holes at a pretty cheap price. 1) He could be in the third base mix, and maybe platoon with Freese; 2) he can play the outfield and could be the much needed fourth outfielder; 3) he is a left-handed RBI guy and could have fit very well in our righty heavy lineup.

To me, this guy would have represented Mozeliak's quintessential "low hanging fruit" if his pricetag is really $3M. Given the financial contraints put on the rest of the roster by the Holliday signing, Huff should have been a no-brainer. Much better fit than Joe Crede or Felipe Lopez, in my opinion.
