RaiderNation  > Group Message Board  > 2010 Draft... If I was running the Raiders...
January 14, 2010, 05:14 PM
Lets here from all the Raider fans who they would draft if they could for the Raiders and why... I'll go first.. :)

1st Round 8th Overall Pick - Tim Tebow, QB, Florida
-- Not a big Florida college fan to say the least but at least he's an actual competitor who has a great work ethic and wants to be the best he can. He'll work hard at the NFL level to prove to people that they are wrong about him, also if he doesn't end up playing QB he'll be happy to play anywhere else (TE maybe?). Total Team player... plus anything is better than that current craptastic pick of Russle.

2nd Round 39th Overall Pick - Brandon Spikes, ILB, Florida
-- Again not a big Florida fan but anyone who wants to dig out the eyes of a running back even though your team is kicking the crap out of them.. well that just says Raiders man to me. :)

3rd Round 70th Overall Pick - Jordan Shipley, WR, Texas
-- Bargin pick if he lasts this long... Wes Welker type player who makes the hard catches when needed, great hands. Plus he can make adjustments when called upon as he was the only WR on Texas to actually adjust to the fact that a Freshman was at QB thus he darn near took over the Championship game in the second half.. we need this guy

3rd Round 86th Overall Pick - Sam Young, OT, Notre Dame
-- Guy who didn't have the greatest season but was still a 4 year starter.

4th Round 104th Overall Pick - Austen Lane, DE, Murray State
-- He's 6'7 270lbs... works hard and personnel reminds me of a high motor guy from the little school of Villanova that the Raiders took a chance on a long time ago by the name of Howie Long.

5th Round 135th OVerall Pick - Willie Baker, OT, Virginia
-- If he's here he'd be worth grabbing. Had some issues but the guy is a solid run blocker, just needs to work on pass protection

5th Round 142nd Overall Pick - Darryl Sharpton, ILB, Miami
-- Raw player who might actually develop into something. If nothing else he could contribute to special teams

7th Round 200th Overall Pick - Geno Atkins, DT, Georgia
-- Probably the best player left. Needs work. Slow moving and can't seem to get through on a double team.
