He can see the field better

Better than whom?

November 26, 2008  06:28 PM ET

Please stop drinking the cool aid if you think for a second that Cassel is better than my boy Tom Brady. The only thing he can do better is move around in the pocket and scramble. But he cannot deliver the ball like Brady and he cannot see the field like Brady.

Exactly! How can Pat fans or just fans in general already forget about MVP Brady?

Hey, Patsfan how about giving Cassel some credit for the job he's done so far. And as for Brady, last time we saw him he choked in the superbowl.

Hey, give some props to Cassel. Hes carried us this far. But how are we already forgeting about are MVP, Tom Brady. Cassel is good but can't yet compare to 16-0 and 50 touchdowns.

You realize it is not possible to win them all right? Guy loses one of four Superbowls and he chokes. You're a real gem sir.

I can only assume from this obtuse comment that Krish means better than Cassel was previously. At the original time of the comment he could not legitimately believe that Cassel was superior to anyone but perhaps Ryan Leaf definitively.

Like this. He did not choke. He's made so many improbable throws and snatched victory from the jaws of defeat. This one time he did not deliver. Sorry to disappoint you Quincy Carter/Tony Romo guy.

Just keep fumbling field goal snaps.

December 8, 2008  12:40 AM ET

Um, I'm pretty sure Tom Brady drove the team down the field for go ahead touchdown (14-10) with just under two minutes left on the clock. The Giants then completed a series of lucky passes on the Pats D. Brady wasn't on the field, dumb ****.

The difference between Cassel and Brady is this: against a scrub second string squad like the Seahawks Brady puts the hammer down and is sitting by the end of the fourth. With Cassell, the team was on the field, in the game until the end.

Cassell has yet to prove that he can CONSISTENTLY (Jets, Colts, etc.) WIN games when they are close at the end. Cassel has done a great job this year. He will most likely end up with 10 wins under his belt which is AWESOME for a 'rookie' starting qb. He has progressed well all year.

He will make a solid NFL QB somewhere next year unless he gets stuck behind a lousy offensive line with no WRs...like Oakland, Detroit, St. Louis... every QB sucks when they are getting hit on every play (see Bulger, Marc).

Cassell=Over rated

December 8, 2008  03:02 PM ET

Cassel is easily one of the best backup's in the league and could start in a number of cities right now. I don't think he's a hall of famer or an all-star but he's getting the job done. His accuracy down the field is in question (much like Brady's was the first couple years of him starting). I don't think it's fair to call him great or horrible.

Matt Cassel is a starting quarterback and he does not look out of place. That is more than can be said for Palmer and Leinart right now.

The guy has played 12 games as a starter. We're learning things about him, sure, but he's developed pretty quickly and there's still more to go. After ten games, some people were STILL calling for Bledsoe over Brady.

Anyone remember the minor controversy going into the SB against the Rams? Bledsoe was almost considered over Brady!

The point is that Cassel still has time to prove the limit of his ability.

One comment from the above article.

"So if this were simply about which quarterback has more talent, you'd be a fool to choose Brady."

Hindsight folks...
