MMA  > Fight Club  > Who should Silva fight next?

Since Anderson Silva's TKO victory over Patrick Cote on Saturday, MMA writers and experts have offered their opinions on who "The Spider" should take on next -- someone who would make for an exciting competition. Who would you like to see Silva take on?

I'd like to see a Dan Henderson rematch.

October 27, 2008  04:29 PM ET

I could see a Silva/Hendo II. BUT, I'd rather Silva fight 205ers. Please not Chuck. That fight would be over in the first round they way Chuck hold's his hand down at his waist. I'm talking a real fight. Rampage maybe, since he ran his mouth on how Bisping could beat anyone at 185. Actually, how's this: Let Silva kill Bisping in the ring, then walk over to his corner and beckon Rampage to finish the last 4 rounds. Two Wolflair fighter down in 1 fight.

i assume hes going to do a 205 fight again because nobody is availible right now. all the top contenders are taken (i hope to god they dont give him liddell, it would be sad to see him get ko'd in consecutive fights). i wouldnt mind seeing them match him with Luiz Cane to just keep him busy.

yushin okami if he beats dean lister in december would be the logical choice for his next title defense at 185. than the winner of bisping/franklin or hendo of next year's tuf 9 would be after that.

Anyone think Cung Lee would make a good opponent if UFC could sign him?

October 27, 2008  09:24 PM ET

I believe Franklin has to fight Henderson before he is announced as the official US coach on TUF9 so that basically counts the both out and Bisping will probably have to wait til after TUF9 ( Dana would put him on the show coming off a loss). And Rampage is fight Wanderlei this year so they would be out since Dana wants Anderson back in the ring much sooner then they would be ready. In my opinion I think he should fight Lyoto Machida for top contender status at 205

October 27, 2008  11:24 PM ET

I think he should fight Filho, but they each claim they would never fight each other.

October 27, 2008  11:55 PM ET

I agree with King Menn.

Rampage.

October 28, 2008  12:58 AM ET

hum.... lyoto machida and rampage. I rampage will get his **** hand to him since he barrel won the fight against Henderson. Lyoto Machida will be a very good fight to watch.

Henderson is too old.

i think i would give bisping one shot....

and then anderson PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE go to 205 im begging you man.....you are too dominant at 185 PLEASE go to 205 there is WAY more competition....AND DANA IF YOU LET THIS MAN RETIRE IM GONNA KILL YOU....give him the biggest contract in UFC history for all i care...JUST KEEP HIM AROUND

October 28, 2008  01:09 AM ET

Rampage-Wanderlei winner would be cool. I'm sure though that it would never happen because of the whole Brazilian thing.

October 28, 2008  05:16 AM ET

Kimbo Slice........ha! J/k. In a perfect world I would love to see him fight Paulo Filho but since that wont happen I would like to see Dana sign Robbie Lawler and have him fight Silva. If all else fails then Michael Bisping.

So no one wants a Silva vs Franklin 3?

I do, but not right now. But I think Rich is going for the 205 belt, so that won't happen for a while.

Nope.

Cung Le barely won his fight with Frank Shamrock. He did break Frank's arm, but if he hadn't, he would've lost that fight in the 3rd. Frank was putting it on him. He even landed a good punch with his arm broken.

October 28, 2008  12:01 PM ET

Anyway, after this next fight at 205, which I'm sure it's going to be, he should fight Okami, then kill Bisping, then fight the rest of his contract at 205, his last fight being for the 205 belt. He can retire as champ. As much as he DOESN'T get paid, Dana owes him that.

October 28, 2008  12:05 PM ET

I personally would love to see Carlos Condit step up to 185 and fight Silva.

October 28, 2008  12:19 PM ET

The winner of Henderson/Franklin would be a logical and good choice. Too bad Lutter didn't respect himself or the UFC enough to make his weight, he gave Silva all he got and almost took it.

October 28, 2008  12:30 PM ET

Franklin doesn't need another loss to Silva; Dana isn't going to make that match and Franklin isn't going to sign up for it.

A Henderson rematch would be great. There are a lot of 205ers who could be an interesting Fight. Anyone else want to see Doug Marshall KTFO by Silva?
