NFL  > Carolina Panthers  > Peppers leaving Carolina a mistake..

Look I believe Peppers leaving Carolina is a big mistake..He is one of a couple of players on that defense history whose been that dominant of a player. If they get rid of him that is a mistake..So what if they franchise tag him he will receive 20 million in a season. Why can't they give him a bigger contract. Its not like there having that many worthy names for a couple of guys on that team. I mean they have money to spend. Why are they going to let Peppers go...They would be stupid if they did.

He would thrive at both the Niners and the Patriots. (3-4) He would definitely be welcomed by me.

I'm a bit confused by the OP. Which is it, him leaving or the team letting him go?

I would love to see Peppers in midnight green. That would help out DE Cole immensely.
Come to Philly.......please.

This guy has been squawking about wanting a big contract since he arrived in the league 7 or 8 years ago. I'll be interested to see if his game drops off significantly after locking in the fat, multi-year deal with a team that runs a 3-4 defense. There are plenty of guys floating around whose performance lacked significantly as soon as the multi-year was signed. Time will tell I guess. The Panthers need a #2 WR, O-line, and a QB (is Matt Moore the answer?). If they franchise tag Peppers again that's $20 million for a year, and are they legit contenders next year? I don't know. I love this guy as a player. But he supposedly doesn't want to be there and he's looking for Haynesworth-like moolah. If I was them I might consider franchising him again as you mention, but so far it looks like the Panthers will be heading in another direction. Wish the Chargers had him, but that ain't happening. Some talking heads are saying Atlanta, Philly, Washington, or Cleveland???
