NFL  > Jacksonville Jaguars  > Matt Jones worth the trouble?

He's a solid wideout but his off-the-field trouble is not good for the franchise. Is it time to cut bait on Matt Jones?

Every goofy southern kid with cash in the bank is cutting up coke in an SUV somewhere. Give him a break. Matt Jones grew up this year and had the shock of "it all might be gone one day."

could Matt Jones be a QB if Garrard went down keep him to back up Garrard then you wouldn't have to waste a roster spot on a backup QB, with him still starting at WR.

Why would you give up matt jones he just had his most productive season in the nfl, and if you cut him you know there is gonna be anouther team that scoops him up and he makes the jags pay for cutting him this next year will be his breakout year. everybody makes mistakes so don't cut him the jags need to admit there mistakes and cut joey porter.

Why cut the best wideout on the team this year he made a mistake he admitted to it he apologized and if you cut him anouther team scoops him up and he makes you pay for it next year. now it's time the jags admit to there mistake and cut joey porter he can't even stay healthy how did he even pass his physical.

what kills me is a white boy(not to sound racist) gets busted and the critics want to oust him, but Kaliff Barnes can do what he likes and they say oh,,,its his upbringing, give him another chance ,, he can't help it,, give me a break,,, Get over it,,, I thought we have CHANGE now.

I have a Matt Jones jersey, so I like the guy, but I'm ready for us to let him go. He was our best receiver this year (which isn't saying much), but I'm tired of him always finding a away to fail with the game on the line. He's not a money player, and they've given him plenty of chances to compete. Now, to be fair, he has shown more signs of life this season than ever, but he still acts like he doesn't want the situation he's in. With the changes that we're going through, he needs to be a casualty just like the other guys who are packing their bags. Someone said Khalif Barnes has had second chances: Well, I expect Khalif to be gone too, as his play is reminiscent of extremely warm refuse. To be frank, my Jaguars are in need of a makeover, and Matt Jones should be one of the guys who should be updating his resume'.

he has proved himself as a quality receiver moving the chains down the field but has struggled to score, cutting him would be a bad move. They need to find a reciever who can be a solid option for garrad in the red zone. Also, with the o-line to hopefully drastically improve next season garrad may be able to make use of his other recievers. bottom line porter was definately not money well spent!

GET RID OF HIM....HE WOULD QUIT ON PLAYS IF HE WASN'T INVOLVED OVER AND OVER AGAIN...HE HAD THE BEST YEAR CAUSE NORTHCUTT SAT THE BENCH....HE WOULD BE IDEAL TO SEE IF WE CAN GET SOME PICKS OR A TRADE....

:ast Spring I was ready to release Jones but after the year he had last year I believe we should make "09 his "put out or get out" year. I am willing to give him another year if for no other reason we haven't got anyone any better at the present time. He has what I call "latent" talent and it better not be any "latetent" than this year.

Love how there is no outcry over this post about goofy southern kid with money in the bank. Why dont we switch that to Marshawn Lynch driving over women in his car and riding around with a gun and being arrested. With Lynch it is racial profiling because his dredlocks and tatoos and gold teeth. For the white guy its simply a southern kid with cash.

Got to love the irony folks got to love it.

the jags need all the help they can get right now.to cut matt would be suiside, they have no depth and the offence looked pathetic.as a die hard jags fan i'm depressed enough.

Who cares Jags finish bottom of AFC this year watch!!! Sux but thats the reality....I bet when Coughlin was let go and he said Gene Smith was someone the Jags should keep around....Weaver missed the sarcasm in Coughlin....I dont think anyone in the Jags can spot talent thats here now....Cause most of their past picks they never seem to use to the players strength...I will debate anyone on this...
