Shanahan has compared Ryan Torain to a young Terrell Davis. Is the hype fair? How much difference can Torain make?

I hope next yr. he becomes our 1 and only featured back!

Shanahan? Didn't he used to be their coach?

You gotta think he and hillis will be the two headed monster with pittman moved to fb and yest tatum bell impressed me again in SD, ripping off the two big ones. so long to selin and andre hall, and hopfully allderage can be a return man.

Hillis is "power" back, Torain is "exclusive" back and Bell is "speed" back, so if broncos keep those 3 they have the best combo in the league, as for rest (Young, P.J. Pope, Pitman, Hall, Alridge) there's just not enough space on roster. Haven't seen much out of Pope, Pitman is getting old (11th season), lost interest in Hall when he fumbled in the game against Patriots, TWISE! and Alridge - I just don't see him on the roster... As for young... he's a great speed back and i really cant choose between Young and bell... both are great guys.

Didn't he also compare Mike Bell to Terrell Davis?? Boy that turned out pretty good didnt it.

Didn't he also say the same thing about Mike Bell? That turned out pretty well didn't it?

Pittman is a still strong and a hole creator. The RB's will and should just be Torrian, Pittman, and Hillis.

how bout, Knowshon, Train, and Alridge. Hillis can move back to his natural FB position (and still be very active) and spencer can move back to LB and continue to use his hit stick.

I agree with Knowshon, he will be the back we need, strong, stouty, and quick.. We have always had good backs, but its time we try and draft a gem... then draft defense the rest the way. It is a heavy draft, so be smart... Torain is good, but very tall and for a back and doesnt have a big base, hence, constant knee problems.

Compare means nothing until they actually perform at that level... Shanny always says that crap I think to back up his draft choices... Cutler has an arm like Elway, Marshall is like TO, Torrain is like Davis... so forth, we need a premier back, not guys that compare to our previous diamonds in the rough.

the guy played half a game... comparisons are just opinions... they need him to prove it. I liked what i saw in that half, but he got hurt for the 2nd time of his only season... gotta stay healthy and prove it. I'd bring someone in (maybe a vet like a derrick ward) but still give Torain a shot at earning playing time.

knowshon is a great choice but we need D we can get a RB after but D should be Denvers 1 and only concern.

Everyone loved Torain during pre-season, and waited patiently for him to come back. When he did, he averaged 5 yards a carry in the first half. It's almost impossible to categorize him as breakable, however - with every single RB suffering. One almost has to wonder if they were on some form of regiment that weakened their muscles or something. I believe Ryan can make a huge difference, but that was under Shanahan. NE didn't really use ANY Rbs since Corey Dillon, so Josh McDaniels has NOTHING to base his experience on.
