I posted this same topic on other SJU message boards, but it's no surprise those places get as many visitors as a detainee at Guantanamo Bay.

I mean, seriously, SJU?!? I'm sorry but this has gone on now for far too long. There no words to describe this debacle! What else has to happen for the higher-ups to get rid of the Norm Roberts experiment?!? He must go at season's end! This is so frustrating and embarrasing, I can't even begin to type my real feelings about how far SJU has fell!

Norm seems like a GREAT guy and stand-up coach but the simple facts cant be overlooked, as this team can never put together 40 mins. of basketball, can't play together, struggle to beat the bottom-tier teams from ANY conference, and can't even recruit the NYC kids to stay in the city. Way too much 1-on-1 action and no continuity...I could go on and on, but just please SJU, MOVE ON......cut your tremendous losses and TRY to start over! THIS IS RIDICULOUS!


There is soooo much wrong here in this program top to bottom, it's hard to pinpoint just one thing and honestly you cant point to 1 thing!

Norm is NOT a D1 head coach...Plain and simple!!! He's a good asst. coach and probably an average, better suited D2 head coach or something of that sort. But definitely NOT head D1 and definitely NOT Big East basketball!!!

He's nowhere near being able to recruit the type of player needed here to compete at the Big East level! He can't get HIS players to buy into the team concept obviously or play together.

Am I the only person who when they watch just wait with 1 eye open knowing this team is going to fold at any second...? Every possession I just cringe because I'm waiting for a turnover. Way too much stale offense, too much standing around, not enough "running some type of offense" and 1 or 2 passes and someone is just hoisting up a shot or burying their head and driving the lane and throwing up some garbage shot! Wait a second....this has been the feeling for over 5 years...!!!

I can't remember the last time an SJU team put together 40 full minutes of a solid effort! It's beyond sad and emabarrasing knowing I'm an alum of this University when the face of the school (basketball program) doesn't even seem to exist anymore. I don't know what else to say.
