NFL  > Oakland Raiders  > First half struggles

When he fired Lane Kiffin, Al Davis criticized the team's offense, especially their performance in the first half. Through three games under Tom Cable, the team has ZERO first half touchdowns. Who's to blame and what needs to be done?

Get a QB who can actually hit an open reciever in the first half and

The WRs were blamed for the QBs inaccurate rushed throws al year long

We did GARCIA willbe the starter as soon as we loose enough games to beg out of the playoffs chase

This twem will kepp setting records for losing games as long as we have a mental midget at QB

I remember having no wide receivers that could catch, and an offensive line that had holes in it at times -though they looked pretty solid at the end of the season.

It takes some time for receivers to develop that pass timing, so as long as the new guys learn their routes and work on their hands (with the modeling of Walker -because he has amazing hands) we'll do alright.

The quarterback is fine, and our running backs are fine; and as long as we have an actual fullback sometimes, that helps.

Miller needs to block less and catch more.

Improve red zone play options.

We've shown that we can reach out of the muck and drag teams and coaches to their doom.
Now all we have to do for a few more super bowl rings is evolve into the professional team we know is just under the surface.

JR is extremely mediocre and his strong arm is meaningless without the skills to back it up. On that note the WRs will take too much blame for JRs failings. So far he hasn't shown any special accuracy when throwing the long pass, so DHB can get open all season long but if JR can't hit him then many TDs will be left on the field reminiscent of Hoss constantly missing wide open deep receivers (Alexander, Williams, Hester?).

The running game will be great if Cable doesn't play Fargas too much over Bush.

The DTs need to really step up their game or it will be another long season trying to stop the run. They also need to show a lot more pass rush than just Scott and with someone who is not just a situational pass-rusher. Burgess has been injury prone of late and it is uncertain that he can get back to his status as a QB terror.

Over all, everything hinges on JR and the DTs.
