NFL  > Washington Redskins  > Is Jason Taylor a Bust?

Dissapointed with his play so far. Was he worth the trouble of getting? If only his dancing was as good as his pass rushing....

HE WAS NOT WORTH THE 3 HIGH ROUND DRAFT PICKS THEY GAVE FOR HIM. EVEN IF HE HAD ONE GREAT SEASON, IT STILL WAS TOO MUCH. HE IS DONE AND MAY NOT EVEN BE ON THE TEAM THIS YEAR AND GO BACK TO MIAMI. HE WANTS TO PLAY FOR THE DOLPHINS AGAIN FOR HIS LAST YEAR. WHAT A STUPID DECISION BY VINNY AND SNYDER. VINNY CERRATO NEEDS TO GO...

I agree. Vinny has no idea of what he's doing. I think it would be worth it if he comes back this year with a revamped D-Line. What I understand is, the man was hurt a lot of the season and that doesn't constitute a bust in my eyes. If he returns with Carter lining up opposite it could be something wonderful.

Are we talking about the Jason Taylor that admitted to the media that he wasn't worth the coin they were paying him? At least he can fall back on dancing now.

I am a life-long Dolphin fan, and can say without hesitation that JT's heart just wasn't in it. It's a shame because he was the best Miami player since Marino. First off, I think it was a huge mistake to trade a second round pick for a 30something player (thanks for that, btw :) ), second, a huge mistake to move him to the left side.

I thought he was done a disservice in Miami when they went away from the 4-3 and tried to use him as a LB/free lancer. Why would they fool with the success he had as a RDE? He was so damn good playing in space out of a 3 point stance on the QB's weak side. I thought he was so pure in that "Chris Doleman/Richard Dent" mold. What were they trying to turn him into? LT?

Anyway, sorry for the disappointment Redskin fans. Maybe when we send your second rounder to Arizona for Anquan Boldin you'll feel better. Go Phins!

Agreed. Taylor has played the right DE position his entire career. You can't just switch him to the left side and expect great things. There's not too many DE's that can play both sides effectively. That's a short list of only All-Pros and Hall of Famers which Taylor is neither right now. Not to mention he was hurt all year. Put Andre' Carter on the left side for god's sakes and let Taylor play the right side. It's not like Carter is an all-pro DE or anything! What have they got to lose?

Before we start making this into a bad deal, let's first look at the circumstances that brought Jason to Washington in the first place. If it wasn't for the injury to Daniels, Taylor would not be here. Vinny made the deal out of desperation. Even with a healthy Daniels, the Skins were week on the D-line. Bringing in a proven commodity, who was known as staying healthy (113 straight starts), was a smart move; it just did not pan out like most people expected. Who could have every known that Jason would get hurt in preseason, and then later have a blood build up in his calf. That was a fluke if I ever saw one. So know the facts before calling this a bad move. Jason need to stay here and prove that he is the player the Redskins thought they were getting (a Pro Bowler).

What 3 hight rounds; it was a 2nd and a 6th. If he stays with the Skins, and have a better season, it was worth it.

Keep him ! This guy is great. It took most of the year to get in football shape. Now he is ready and will be much more involved and successful this coming year.

he'll be staying -- Snyder is prone to not accepting his bad decisions and dragging them on -- and he'll be playing great this year, i think JT will end up (pun not intended) back at RE for this season, Daniels injury hurt us this year.

Another vote the Fire Vinny Club, right here!

Jason will be good this year! Hurt most of 2008, he will surprise us in 2009! He has what it takes, just wait.
