Is the timetable running out for the QB? Can he sustain his health over the course of a full season?
November 24, 2008  03:32 AM ET

Time to find that "quarterback of the future" in next years draft...

November 26, 2008  05:20 PM ET

I concur. Ole Hasselbeck has been good and lead the team farther than any other QB in team history...but once a QB starts having back issues...its down hill from here....he still can play a couple of more years but they do need to draft a rookie QB and with their record they should have pick of the litter just about.

Plus he doesn't tip well at weddings!

If you think letting Hasselbeck go is the answer...who you going to replace him with? Seneca? I got respect for Seneca but he is no Matt Hasselbeck for sure. If the offensive line is improved and stays healthy next season we should see the old Hasselbeck we enjoy to watch. I do agree we're going to have to look for the QB of the future VERY SOON. I would sit on it for one more year...but that's just me!

I say we trade Hasselbeck and if we can get anything good in return we should just release him. He is due 10 million next year. He is not worth that much money that we could be spending on a free agent like Leroy Hill or Albert Haynesworth. Seneca this season has proven himself this year. He set a franchise record for number of completions without an interception. We might as well draft a QB in the second day of the draft, just in case.

^ if that happens, whoever fills in will have big shoes to fill in. yea seneca did alright, but i'd rather see him as a WR. ok, so he didn't throw many INT's this season...but how many yards did he throw for...not a whole lot for the amount of passes.

January 7, 2009  07:02 AM ET

^ i'll agree with you that Seneca didn't have many INT's this season, but how many yards did he throw for? NOT MUCH!

January 7, 2009  07:12 AM ET

Now that I think of it...Cassel would be a free agent if NE don't franchise him.

January 12, 2009  11:33 AM ET

Seneca is a better fit in Moras offense. Matt will be injured within the first 3 games because he moves at a snails pace. I think it is better to have somebody in there that will play a whole season.

Seneca is a better fit in Moras scheme. Matt will be injured within the first 3 games next year. I think it is better to have a player that will be there the whole season. Time for Matt to move on. For the good of the team.

January 17, 2009  07:20 AM ET

he going to be fine. But they do need to draft a good qb.

January 17, 2009  07:22 AM ET

he will be fine, but they do need to draft a killer QB.

January 17, 2009  07:37 AM ET

hallelbeck has possilby 2 decent yrs left in him. thats if he can stay healthy. the seahawks are projected to get crabman in the 1st rd so im sure he's going to have a "shot" of life back in him after they get him a big time weapon at the WR position.

You Vick haters must have lived a perfect & noble life, never done a thing wrong have you. Vick made mistakes yeah, but he should be given a chance to redeem himself, if he doesn't then throw him to the dogs. At least he wasn't in on killing someone like Ray Lewis I'm sure that persons family just love watching him on tv. It's obvious your an idiot Frye over Vick there is no way frye is half of Vick. I say Play Wallace he's better than any of these guy's Hasselbeck included. ( by the way I am a animal lover to the end). Holmgren should have taken him with him.

Who cares who the QB is if you don't have a top O-line so he can make a play or make some kind of hole for the RB. The Hawks will not have a chance

I think his wife's timetable is up. Is she not annoying or what???? Yeah I think Matt is also nearing the end as well.
