NFL  > Seattle Seahawks  > Jones or Morris?

Who do you think deserves the rock more on Sundays? Do you go with a 2 back split carry system?
January 4, 2009  10:35 PM ET

Morris, if we resign him. We need to use Duckett more. We should give Justin Forsett a few carries a game and see if he can compete.

Morris

January 7, 2009  07:15 AM ET

i'm also for Forsett getting a shot

January 8, 2009  12:56 AM ET

How bout neither cause they both suck!!!!!! Cut Jones and Ducket and let Forsett get most of the carries and have Weaver and Schmitt get the ball in short yardage situations!! Pretty simple if you ask me. There is no point in having three full backs who all see action.

I agree....I think cut them and draft a RB this year or sign a mid career proven vet.

They both avg over 4 yrds a carry but i say morris deserves a shot give him some decent blocking he could break out i think cut jones us forsett as the change of pace back

January 12, 2009  11:39 AM ET

1 or 2 backs are going. They won't carry all 6. Jones and Morris are about the same. I just hope they realize the talent Schmitt has and use him more. I think Schmitt and Duckett would be a tough tandem to stop.

After seeing Sproles do his damage, how can you not explore the Forsett?

sorry, didnt think the first note took. *rookie

Man Imagine a weaver schmitt split back backfield no matter where you go someone is getting hit hard it would be great cause you could throw the ball deep and use them as blockers or hit them up the gut. Also I agree Sproles shows us what smaller guys can do at RB its hard to track them behind the line because there so small. Durability is a factor though as a feature back.

All of these backs are decent and the competition may make them better. Mora ta;ks of being much more run-oriented in the future. That changes the dynamics a fair bit. The new offensive scheme should definitely change things. Spring training will be interesting. I say keep them all right where they are for now unless they can get some action on better O-Linemen. To be a run-team, we're going to need a better O-Line. With that much competition, injuries may occur. Keep 'em all for now and let's see how the new O-scheme pans out.

Morris, he would be a good back if the Sea Smaks had some WR's to go to, to distract Morris. He has potential... There are some good WR hitting the draft this year, draft a couple!

I hope we have learned from the Alexander- Hutchinson mess up. That really showed Holmgren had lost his game. He should have been fired on the spot it was the biggist screw up in hawks history. Holmgren built us up then he brought us down, he's an idiot. He ruined our team and Alexanders career. I hope it has taught us the lesson that if you don't have an O-line you can't throw or run. Holmgren needs to get in the office and close the door STAY AWAY FROM THE FIELD he's like the book that's been read everyone knew what's next. Thank GOD he's gone. It's time to build up both lines and play some hard nosed FOOTBALL. I believe MORA will do that.

shoulda never gave jones all that free agent money-- he sucked at ND he sucked in little D he sucks now. cut him, keep morris, and spit with weaver if he can't hold up to every down status. the rumblin fullback does have some nice explosiveness-- we all saw that last year. but i know none of that will ever happen

February 2, 2009  08:07 PM ET

Well, is the question who SHOULD it be, or who WILL it be.. It will be Jones, but it should be Morris.

You should really educate yourself before you speak. Ruskell was the one who placed the "transition" tag on Hutchinson. Holmgren was furious that Ruskell let him get away and that event very well could have been the beginning of the end for their relationship. Holmgren is a Hall of Fame head coach in every respect and without him there is no way Seattle wins 4 division titles and makes it's first appearance in the Super Bowl.

You deserve your opinion of Alexander but if you ask me he was a product of the system. A number of backs in the league would have had similar results behind Walter Jones and Steve Hutchinson coupled with an extremely effective pass game. What did Shawn do after Hutchinson left and he signed a big contract.

Running backs for next year....I believe that Morris will be gone and it will be JJ and Duckett. Julius Jones is a solid back but because of the injuries and being behind often in games he didn't get the opportunities to show what he could do. Possibly a draft pick may compete. I like Forsett but only as an occasional change of pace. Being that Greg Knapp has a history of building excellent running teams I think they'll make it a point to sure up the O-Line and balance the offensive attack to make the run game effective. From what I read, it looks like Duckett will play a bigger role similar to that of Brandon Jacobs in NY which will make Jones that much more effective.

February 3, 2009  06:36 PM ET

Morris will definitely be playing somewhere else next year, which is too bad because he is our guy and is a better version of JJ.

In my opinion the best way to improve the overall game is to pick up another O-lineman in the first two rounds. With Chop and possibly Willis on the way out we need at least one game ready addition on that unit from the draft.
Rocky needs to be resigned because Kearny is the only other player with game smarts on the D-line. Mebane and Green have poor recognition skills and Bryant hasn't made it on the field so who knows. It is hard to tell with CT because he is such a non-athlete.

February 3, 2009  08:41 PM ET

Hey kb9451 If you had paid attention and educated yourself, then you would know that there should not had been a reason to place a tag on Hutchinson he wanted to stay they should have paid him he was worth it and as for Holmgren not being responsible ( NOW PAY ATTENTION YOUR ABOUT TO GET EDUCATED) Holmgren himself said It's my fault I thought we had him wrapped up before I went on vacation he knows he messed up. I can't deny Hutchinson made Alexander what he was. Holmgren is a team builder but he needs to be put away in a office where he can do that . Who knows what we would have done the last few years but to say we would have never won division titles or been to the Superbowl without Holmgren is just stupid. It's time to fall out of love with Holmgren he was never that great. Actually It was both their faults.
