NFL  > St. Louis Rams  > Coaching Change

How do you feel about the coaching change the Rams underwent?

It seems like the right move for now, but the talent on this team at some key positions seems limited.

Bulger has all the tools to be a top-5 QB (as he was the year before last) except an offensive line. It's not his fault.

I believe Haslett can turn this team around. He and Devaney will have a plan after the season to get rid of some players and bring in the type of players they want. Chip has seen enough and will finally make overdue changes in the front office

Yeah the O-Line does suck really bad, Orlando Pace is the most overrated OL ever. His 35 lb. head makes him to top heavy I guess.
But I will never watch another Ram's game until Bulger is OFF the team, he is horrible..... Bad O line or not, When they do block for him he throws it to the other team.

What??? Are you kidding me? Overrated??
No way in hell has Orlando Pace ever been overrated. He's been a top 5 tackle for nearly 10 years. He's been a 6 time All-NFC player, a 5 time First-Team All Pro, a 7 time Pro Bowl Selection and a Super Bowl Champion.
Has he lost a step?... of course he has. Injuries have done him in. But, in no way has he ever been overrated. If you're Ram fan... you should know this.

I guess all of the defensive players he let's by him are for a tactical advantage? Have you ever watched a ram's game or are you watching old tape from Ohio State?

As I've said... he has lost a step due to injuries in the last 2 seasons. But, he was a premiere tackle for many years.

How can u guys bash the QB and the OL well i understand the OL pace is the only one thats good but he is very injury prone and as for Bulger he can be good just give him a O line. He has won games for us he has took us to the playoffs. As for the coaching yah we need a new coach someone who hasnt been here these couple of years I cant help but think maybe... Coach Bill Bullick hey bill cowher wants to eventually come back....

I have been a Rams fan forever and I have endured many of heart breaks but nothing like these last few years. Look Mark Bulger is a very good backup. Period!!! Even when this sorry "O" line has kept him on his feet he has made terrible plays and decisions. I feel that we need to draft a QB or bring in a free agent QB like Donivan Mcnabb, Vince Young and even Michael Vick who are all moble and can throw on the run you need to be with an "O" line like ours. SJ is heartless and a big whinning P###y. I feel faint and my little ooowy hurts. If he wants to be considered an elite running back he needs to suck it up and play and earn his paycheck. Just a bit of advice for SJ quit dancing and just run the damn ball. I understand that this team is not very talented, but they are professionals right so they should try to play as such. Yes we need many pieces to fix this team, in my opinion we need a new starting QB, RB and a complete set of offensive linemen. The top priority though is replace management and hire coach cowher or a HC with N##s to hold theses guys accountable. Get rid of dumb a## #68. Chip if you bring a half way decent team back to St. louis we fans will follow and cheer for them. We are eager to have some remnance of a pro football to cheer for.

Really? Bulger's 2006 stats: 4,301 yards, 24 TD's, 8 INT, 3 fumbles lost, 18 rushes for 49 yards, QB rating 92.9. Helluva backup if you ask me.

December 17, 2008  02:27 PM ET

Ok safetyblitz I'll give you that, but what has he done lately? CRAP!!! His stats are from two years ago and where did his stats get us? I'll tell you 8-8 and from there they have gotten worse and worse. The best records that the team has accumilated has been with Kurt and Kurt even suffered with this team as well but we have won division titles with Kurt and not to mention a Super Bowl. So again what has Bulger done for the team and not for himself? Again !!!CRAP!!!! Let's face it we need a moble QB if we are not going to upgrade our "O" line. Bulger is not moble so he will continue to take punishment. Now if we upgrade our "O" line maybe then maybe he may do something but I doubt it. He is a back up and will always be a backup, he is not a QB that you can count on to put the game on the line with. Montana, Elyway, Payton Manning and even Big Ben are and were QB's that you knew and know they can win a game for you single handedly.

This team from what I've seen needs to be rebuilt from the ground up and the 1st thing you do is get an OL and a DL. You win games in the trenches. A good OL makes an average QB look great and a good DL makes your LBs and secondary look great.

The reason the let Warner go was because he was fumbling too much while being sacked. If they had reduced the sacks, the fumbling would have went away. And of course, Jackson holding out hurt a lot.

I always have to give me credentials when I talk about the Rams because everyone assumes a fan became a fan during the Super Bowl run. I've been a fan since 76 and suffered through all the rough and good years. I loved the defense in the old days with Jim and Jack Youngblood and Nolan Cromwell. Suffered through the Ferragamo and Jimmy Johnson (?- The very good safety in 1980) fiasco.

I hope they build a good team again.

You made the point yourself. Early in the 2007 season is when the Rams' O-line started to fall into serious disrepute. As I recall, during the first five weeks of last season the starting O-line was different each week.

The O-line is all. Get him some protection and Bulger will be back.

Yes I agree, we need to fix our "O" line. The point I'm trying to make is that even when the "O" line played decently and Marc was not on his butt and he was kept clean he has and continues to make s##ty decisons and plays. I can honestly say that he was responsible for losing at least 4 games out of this miserable season himself. The play calling is another issue so freakin predictable. Hell I am at home watching the game and I know what the next play is going to be. Maybe JH does deserve another shot but when he was in control of the defense is an indicator of how this team will be coached for get about it. I have just two words or shall I say, in the words of Marshall Faulk " Bill Cohwer"

December 18, 2008  06:59 PM ET

I wouldn't be surprised at all if Bulger were hearing footsteps, especially considering the sieve he has in front of him.
