I think that I shall never see a mascot as strong as a Tree...

Of course, that would be great if Stanford's mascot really was a tree. It's not. The Tree is the Stanford Band mascot. Sadly for alums the world over our mascot is the color Cardinal. Hmm...

I think that I shall never see a mascot as strong as a wavelength of light between 620 and 750 nanometers.

Not to dispute you Orac, because you would know significantly more than this wacky wabbit about Stanford, but I always thought Stanford had no official mascot.

To cite gostanford.com, "There is no official mascot at Stanford University."

Is the general consensus among the student body that the color Cardinal is the unofficial mascot?

Inquiring rabbits want to know!


And yes, The Tree is strong.
Ugly as hell, but strong.
