Lovie has mentioned moving Danieal Manning to Strong Safety. This leaves us with Steltz/Payne/Afalava at free safety. Any of those guys excite you ? Me neither.

Jamar Williams is 6'0 237 lbs and had an insane 19 tackles in his only start at the OLB position last year. Could he be a menace at free safety ?

Left field thought. Brian Urlacher at free safety ? Extend his career. Noted for his coverage skills, he would have no problem tackling the tight ends and larger receivers. He would certainly pack some power in run support ! Williams hitting the gym and taking over at the mike.

Lovie smith has had over 40 combinations of FS/SS in 96 games. Time to cement the position.
