Thiago Silva, somewhat. People who watch UFC SHOULD know him, but his name doesn't get tossed around alot. He is 13-0.
Gegard Mousasi. Even though I heard he wants to box now. What a waste of talent if he decides to do that.
Oh, and Roger Huerta. Kinda fell off the map after he blasted the UFC and his loss (if you wanna call it that) to Kenny Florian.
Now, before any says "a win is a win", I agree MOST of the time. But when you say, "I finish fights" but you go in there and do you best impression of Lyoto Machida and run the entire fight, that's when I have a problem. That fight had the makings of a classic. Instead, Kenny wanted to be passive and run. So sad. He'll never get a title shot like that.
how about Rich Franklin- Guy gets beatup by the best on the PLANET
TWICE
and now its like he;s Ken Shamrock or something.

Indeed. He only has 3 losses, two to Anderson Silva. So if Anderson never existed, he would only have 1 loss. People seem to forget.
Luis Cane, the guy is undefeated with the exception of an Emmy winning performance by James Irvin. He doesn't have superb KO power but he is the best "Punches in Bunches" fighter of the UFC LHW division. He can take a punch also. The guy I think he matches up the best with in the LHW division is Forrest Griffin. His style defeats Forrest every time. Its like a more refined version of Keith Jardine. If these two ever face off I got "Banha" by TKO rd 2.
Urijah Faber...
Extremely WELL known and respected by MMA fans. But completely overlooked by casual fans since his weight-class in not part of the UFC.

Lyoto "Dragon" Machida. Dude's 13-0 in the ultra-competitive light-heavyweight. He isn't really known as a knockout guy, but his style and how he fights in the ring is like nothing else.

Same reason as Yoda.
Agree with YODA and Hank too.
Lyoto? Eh, still not sold on his "running" style. I lean more towards Thiago Silva in that division. 13-0 as well. The great thing is them two are fighting each other, so we will see.
Rousimar Palhares is 17-1 and his only loss was to Dan Henderson, Yushin Okami has long been forgotten about due to injuries but he is still the #1 contender at middleweight, and Mike Swick who has run his record to 12-2 with both losses to good fighters (Leben, Okami) at 205 but he now fights at MW
I second the vote for Rich Franklin....he was a dominant champion who beats everyone in his divison except the one guy who happens to be THE BEST POUND FOR POUND FIGHTER in MMA...and suddenly hes not in anyones top 10? To me it makes no sense that pretenders like Machida would ever get consideration as a better fighter than Rich

Glad to see Franklin getting some love. He will pose problems for a lot of light heavies.
Urijah Faber - This guy is one of the most entertaining fighters to watch and like was stated earlier, he's not in the UFC so he is not a name common to casual MMA fans. I am so glad I have HDNet and have had the opportunity to see him fight several times. I also think he should be regularly included in the pound-for-pound discussion.

The guy can get back into the championship picture if he can beat Hendo. Franklin is a stud. If only it weren't for his nemesis Silva...
QUOTE(#7):
Sean "the muscle shark" Sherk
Since Penn put the beatdown on Sherk, and the steroid deal, Sherk has a ways to go before people forget about that stuff. Beating Tyson Griffin was a good start though, and the dude is a (little) beast.
Hey I am all for Rich Franklin, thats why my name is Ace4President. I just took the question literal and those are fighters I overlooked. Franklin will never be over looked by me and for sure not overlooked by any fighter. I agree if he beats Henderson he is back in the lime light but I don't know about championship contender yet. I believe they are fighting at 205 and thats a stacked division that now Anderson Silva has also joined so time will tell.

When did the UFC eliminate the middle weight division Hank?I thought Silva was the ufc middle weight champ.Filho won't fight Silva. That's why he's not as respected as he probably should be.WEC champs aren't as well known to most people.
