NBA  > General NBA  > What the knicks should do this summer
March 11, 2010, 02:19 PM
the knicks surely have enough cap space to sign 2 max FAs this summer. I would surely go after LBJ and not try to sign Bosh along w/LBJ unless LBJ insists. I would retain David Lee instead. YES, Bosh is better than Lee but Lee is cheaper. Sign LBJ for the max...retain Lee for 10 mil and hold onto curry. I would use the money that would have been spent on Bosh for a shot blocking center like camby.

This gives a lineup in 2010 of
PG - Sergio / Douglas
SG - Chandler / walker / house
SF - LBJ / Galo / Chandler
PF - Lee / LBJ / Chandler
C - Camby / Curry / Lee

Save curry's 13 mil expiring contract. Keep a close eye on New ORleans. Trade curry's expiring contract for Chris paul mid season.

Finish the year with
PG - CP3
SG - chandler
SF - LBJ / Galo / Chandler
PF - Lee / Chandler / LBJ / Gal
C - Camby / Lee

its a championship contending team.

haha 1 problem....if New Orleans decides to trade Paul (which is insanely unlikely unless he comes back from his injury and isnt the same) they won't be doing it to get an expiring contract lol. Teams want expiring contracts for cap space in order to make a run at one of the true 5-10 elite alpha dog players that you can build a title around. Chirs Paul, when healthy, is one of these players. So why would they trade him away for cap space? If they aren't going to try and build around Paul now then the franchise will be dead within 4-5 years. Its not Chris Paul is T-Mac or Vince or some other overpaid crybaby that they would want to dump. So all that said, if New Orleans is crazy enough to trade Paul I would suspect they will make this known and wait for the offers to come rolling in....remember when Boston gave away 5 roster players and top draft picks to obtain Garnett? Thats closer to the deal New Orleans would have to expect in return if they were going to move Paul, not Eddy Curry aka The Cheeseburgaler aka Mr. Don't Drop The Soap

*It's not LIKE chris paul is T-Mac or Vince..

March 11, 2010  04:42 PM ET

PS a team in the East with Paul, LeBron, Lee and Camby would win the title in like 7 of the next 8 or 9 years lol......if they fired D'antoni that is

u r wrong. If they lost there best player...and feel they cannot resign him...which he is a unresticted FA in 2011....they will trade him for either value..or an expiring contract to gt undr the cap. U need tounderstand the NBA rules my friend. U cannot sign FA's when U R under the cap...moving cp3 puts them under the cap.

U idiot he was agrreing with u. Im sick of knicks fans talking about cleveland, what in the hell have the knicks done for the last decade and even further back. U guys have more lottery picks than almost anyother team and stop including the browns like they actually have something to do with lebrons decision. So we had a dirtbag owner who wanted to sell his soul for money, good for him. If cleveland is so bad then how come we got a new team back within a few years. what other city has ever done that. Then. theres the he's gonna get more exposure scenario. let me see cavs and thier chineese investors equal billions of people in china or lets just say alot less more people in new york. If u know anything about lebron his most important quality that he stands by is loyalty. If he leaves not only will he be seen as a traitor to akron but people all across the country. Plus his mom isnt gonna leave ohio and last time i checked lebron dosnt travel very far without her. New York is were players go when there almost done and have nowhere else to go. But by all means go out and buy season tickets like every other knicks fan is and sit and watch another year of dissapointment when lebron dosnt come.

Please tell me how NYC crackheads are deserving of anything. If we win a champoinship it wont be bought like NY does. But i have come to a realization though. So far everytime u have stated something on this site u end up totally wrong, so with that said keep saying lebron is leaving.

Worst football franchise in recent history = raiders.

OSU lost in champoinship games we made it to the championship more than anyother team last decade. If we didnt have a 2 month layoff between the games it might be different. no other team has to deal with that.

Did forbes write about the fact that the cleveland council was found guilty of corruption and so was the mayor and that had a big contibitur to current conditions. Would love for u to go there and run ur mouth!

You can say big stars leave every team u idiot. Name one team that hasnt lost thier big stars. CC left milwaulke and won. Kosar played for 1 play. wow impressive

Ans all of this is supposed to equal lebron leaving. With every argument that u ever wrote u have never actually stated something that actually has to do with a direct reason lebron is leaving. The fact that u have to write about stuff that dosn't even have to do with basketball just shows ow little u know about sports. The fact is ur mad cuause we have lebron and always will and u dont. So go ahead and bash ohio or whoever u want because even u stated before its because ohio fans hurt ur feelings. Maybe if u wouldnt rant about stuff u have no idea about then maybe they would of left u alone poor little baby.

I Can't wait til The Parade in downtown Cleveland, where Lebron annouces he's staying. I wonder what nicks fans will do?

March 12, 2010  04:48 PM ET

Wake up and smell the LBJ isnt coming to NY.

He will not come to a team of a bunch of ball hogs....

He wants to be the main ball hog.

do U realize there is only 4 players under contract for the knicsk next year. The team will be totally different. U cannot look at the knicks today and say this roster will be teh same and just adding LBJ...they will look totally different.

How have I been wrong boy?I've called out the Clowns as the worst team in recent NFL history and that is trueI've called out tSlowsu for choking everytime they play a REAL opponent and that is trueI've called out the Cavs and Cleveland for their repeated failures and the low caliber of people who live there. That is true also. Check with Forbes.I've correctly stated that every big star Cleveland has ever had has left and won nearly the minute they got to a real team. Hmmm... CC, Thome, Ernest Byner, Paul Warfield, Kosar, Ron Harper, ect ectFace it, you are from the City of Losers and nothing will change that. Why even try to debate me boy?

How can he debate you a BOY who barely speaks english...

To call the Cavs an failure is a joke, they have been to the Eastern Conference finals 3 years in a row...

The Indians have made it to the world series...

The Ohio State has played in about 4 National Championship games, with a win

So the Browns are sorry...but so are you...BOY
