Are the showcars that are seen at shopping centers, etc. real race cars? I read this interesting book about showcar drivers, and wondered if they were real race cars. Check it out at www.goreese.com

I also think they're just replicas, Race cars are very expensive, if they have to display a real one, it would be in few places and for a limited time.

They are usually real race cars. They will usually bring a short track car to an event where they are running a super speedway and vice versa. It is not cheap to build a fake just to travel around and entertain the public. It is cheaper to take an older car, one that won't be raced for a few weeks, or one that is retired to an event.
