MMA  > Fight Club  > EliteXC just buying time?
November 3, 2008, 03:20 PM
In responding to some of its fighters "breach of contract" claims, ProElite Inc., the parent company of EliteXC, said it is in the process of downsizing and still intends to promote MMA events.

The notice refutes reports of the company filing for bankruptcy and contradicts the organization's earlier notice to managers that it was ceasing fight operations and letting employees go.

Cesar Gracie's response to ProElite's "revised" notice: "They're just buying time."

Is Gracie right? Is ProElite just trying to skirt around the legal issue by claiming it's still in the business? Or do you think the company is serious when it claims it's not done promoting?

They are done. Good luck even trying to come back now that the public presumes you dead. Perception is reality, and the reality is they are done.

EliteXC is trying to hold onto the contracts so that they can sell them off and recoup some of the $50+ million they lost.

They could continue to attempt to promote all they want, but they are done. Too bad for some of the few quality fighters the organization actually had.

Too late.

Bye bye EliteXC.

In fact, I don't know why we spend so much time talking about what was an average to mediocre MMA organization.

Of course, they are done. They are just legally fighting over the leftover scraps right now. Standard BS.

I dont understand this at all, how are they doing this?
