NFL  > Philadelphia Eagles  > A Note From a Giants Fan - Keep Donovan
April 1, 2010, 11:23 AM
I have been a Giants fan since 1983. I have hated the Eagles since then, despite being born in the City and having lived in Allentown for 8 years as an adult, but I have a deep respect for the Eagles.

For years Donovan has struggled with subpar receivers, and when the team gave him one, they gave him a dysfunctional one in TO, and they made it to the Super Bowl. They just gave him two new guys that can flat out play, and to be honest with you, scare me to death.

Donovan can win. The question is can the coach? Is Donovan really the problem, or is Andy Reid the issue. You don't go to 4, 5, 6 (I forget how many you have been to) NFC Championship games and only make one Super Bowl. The same can be said about Indy, was it Tony Dungy, or was it Peyton Manning?

Failures like that are coach-based, not player-based. It comes down to gameplans, team execution, etc.

Letting Donovan go would be a huge mistake. Sure, send him packing, and watch him win a Super Bowl.

Just look at the Chargers.
