NFL  > Philadelphia Eagles  > Decisions, decisions...

What will the Eagles do with all these draft picks? With the uncertainty of football in 2011....do the Eagles go for the gold this year, or stockpile future picks?
With 11 draft picks, only the Patriots have more with 12 overall, but Philly's is front-loaded with 5 of the first 87 selections.
Rd. 1 = #24
Rd. 2 = #37
Rd. 2 = #55
Rd. 3 = #70
Rd. 3 = #87
Rd. 4 = #105
Rd. 4 = #121
Rd. 5 = #137
Rd. 6 = #200
Rd. 7 = #243
Rd. 7 = #244
That's impressive, even if they decide to stay put...and just take the best player on the board regardless of need, the Eagles could have a whopper of a draft. If they decide to go for positions of need, like help on defense, and address the D early, they can get young quick and add depth with talented athletes.
In any case it should be interesting because of the new draft format, and the flexibility to move around anywhere they want.

On a side note, looking back at the 2007 draft in which the Eagles moved out of the 1st rd. (pick #26) giving it to Dallas who selected DE Anthony Spencer...the Eagles compensation for that trade landed them 3 picks. They selected Kevin Kolb who is now the starting QB, starting LB Stewart Bradley who is a rising star that in 2008 registered 151 tackles, 1 sack, 1 INT, 5 knockdowns, and 1 fumble recovery in 16 games (missed 09 on IR)...and added another rising star in starting TE Brent Celek who had a fine season in 09 with 76 receptions for 971 yards and 8 TD's in 16 games. That is great value, and another example that it is not always a bad thing to make deals with division rivals. What they do with the 37th pick they got from the Redskins for McNabb will no doubt be the one most scrutinized. We may not know for a year or two what that pick will yield, just like the move made in 07.
