NFL  > Denver Broncos  > Class Organization

I think the Broncos have shown themselves to be a very classy organization during the last two years. Jay Cutler shot his way out of a contract and forced a trade because he didnt feel that the Broncos organization was treating him with the amount of respect his ability warranted. Although the Broncos were not obligated to trade Cutler, they did and to the team he grew up as a fan of, Da Bears. They could have received better deals from other teams but part of the trade was to make sure Cutler landed in a situation that would be good for him as well. A class move for a guy that showed little class during the McJay gate days prior to the 2009 draft. This offseason, the Broncos dealt Marshall to the Dolphins in large part because the Marshall is a Florida native and is partial to the fins. Like Cutler, the Broncos were in line to receive better compensation from other teams, but Marshall's fit with the Dolphins was a consideration and concern for Mr. Bowlen. The Dolphins were the best situation for Brandon and they were on par with other teams as far as compensation...so a deal was made. The trade of Scheffler this week was another example of the team ensuring the player is placed with a team of his choice. Scheffler was outspoken about his displeasure at being in Denver after Shanny was fired. Scheffler when tout of his way to be expendable during the 2009 season, but the Broncos showed class and basically took nothing as compensation (taking a fifth rounder while sending a 7th rounder) to ensure he was returned to his native Michigan where he could resume his career. Overall, I applaud the Broncos for showing class when dealing with these "me first" athletes. I look forward to a successful 2010 for the Broncos. Let me know what your thoughts are.
