In my humble opinion, without question he is the most annoying player in the league. Yes, he is a top-2 player in the game, and I enjoy his physicality when it is clean (the hit on Jagr in the Olympics was epic), but his on-ice personality is extremely annoying. After every goal that he is on the ice for, whether he has anything to do with it or not, he jumps around like a pre-teen girl at a Jonas Brothers concert. He then proceeds to jump on and sexually assault his teammates like they just won the Cup. The Capitals are the Presidents Trophy winners playing the worst team allowed into the playoffs in either conference, not the other way around. Ovechkin has absolutely no class as a player. He is the Chad Ochocinco of the NHL. I guess he feels that the his skills alone will not give him the kind of attention that Crosby gets, so he has to be an attention-w.h.o-r.e. to scratch his way even more in to the spotlight. He sees how other idiots in the U.S. media become popular, and figures he will copy their idiotic ways to get famous.

I understand why other people enjoy watching him while he is playing the game. I enjoy it as well, but as soon as the puck goes in to the net, he turns into an annoying child. The type of child that pushes girls with cameras, talks negatively about opposing teams, and wears stupid hats during the all-star skills competition. He is not funny, and if he would just tone down the lame celebrations and attempts to be edgy and cool, it would make him even more popular and celebrated than he is now.
