NCAAB  > General NCAAB  > Goodbye, Wizard of Westwood, and God Bless
June 4, 2010, 10:39 PM
My earliest sports memories are of my dad and myself huddled in front of a tiny black & white tv, tuned to KTLA channel 5, watching the UCLA Bruins. They always had the best teams, it seemed, and no matter who the players were, always seen on the sideline, calm and unflappable, always in control, was Mr. John Wooden.

He was an inspiration, not only to those that played for him, but to those of us that had the honor of watching him.

He was a great person, and will be missed. One of a kind, he was.
