FRANKFURT, Germany - Honduras is regrouping with a little more than a week to go before its opening World Cup match, recovering from a 3-0 loss to Romania and injury scares to Wilson Palcios and David Suazo.

Suazo had to be replaced in the 38th minute and Palacios was removed from the field on a stretcher in the 67th. The injuries to both were later determined not to be serious.

Palacios was examined at local hospital for was determined to be an leg abductor muscle problem.

"We thought that I had a muscle pull but thank God everything is OK," Palacios told TV program Cinco Deportivo.

On Saturday, the Catrachos surrendered goals to Daniel Niculae in the 20th, Gheorghe Florescu in the 45th and a penalty by Mirel Radoi in the 76 after Roger Espinoza fouled Ciprian Deac to close out their final World Cup prep series with a draw and two losses and outscored 5-2.

It has not won in five games, a 3-1 friendly victory over the United States in January.

The team traveled after the game in St. Veit an der Glan, Austria, to Frankfurt, where it will train until Tuesday before heading to South Africa.

"This game brought us back down to earth and now we have to come together," Honduran manager Reinaldo Rueda said. "We have the desire to start the World Cup on the right foot. No one wants to lose but Honduras will look to do best with what it has. We can't demand too much when we haven't had matches against big teams, something that has been a disadvantage for us as a team."

Honduras is playing in only its second World Cup and first since 1982. It opens against Chile on June 16 and also will face Spain and Switzerland in Group H.
