MLB  > General MLB  > Ok, you are Da Commish, and the ESPN poll just hit your desk what do you do?

Dan: I get rid of Bucknor for sure, and then I get rid of West and Hernandez. Obviously the entire MLB don't like these umpires, so why keep them around? I'd give them the heave, actually. I'd keep the rest the same and just get rid of the worst of the crop and keep the best.

Rich: I re-evaluate the umpires and any possible actions I can take. I do a more specific poll regarding replay (limitations etc). But if I was the commish, I would make more changes than was just asked about in the poll (interleague, all-star game etc).

Joe: Not a thing because of the poll itself but just realize it is another log on the fire that something needs to be done on improving the umpires' review system.

Anthony: Completely ignore it. Baseball is at the peak of its popularity, the Twins, Mets, Yankees just got a new stadium, the Marlins are in line for one, the Rays are one of the best teams in the league and the Nationals have Strasburg and Harper. Despite the complaints, baseball doesn't need to change a thing. The competition is there, the money is there, and so is the popularity.

Matt: Nothing. Because I'm Bud Selig and doing anything productive gives me hives. Or if I'm not Bud Selig, but am in fact myself as Commissioner, then we never get to this poll in the first place because I haven't tolerated lousy umpiring over the past two decades. Instead, I did something about it years ago when blatant calls were missed. I also never allowed replay to be implemented in such an absurdly limited fashion. All game-changing plays are subject to review thanks to my effective tenure in the boss' chair.
