NCAAF  > General NCAAF  > Notre Dame has absolutely dominated Texas, Oklahoma, and Alabama throughout history

Given the incredible amount of trash talking on this forum against Notre Dame that comes from fans of these three schools, especially here, I thought I would share some fun facts:

Notre Dame is 8-2 against Texas.

That includes 2 Cotton Bowl wins in Dallas when Texas was ranked #1, both of which denied Texas the national championship. Notre Dame's Cotton Bowl win in the 1970 season stopped Texas' 30 game winning streak.

My favorite---1977 season (78 Cotton Bowl): Notre Dame 38 #1 Texas 10 giving Notre Dame the 1977 national championship.

Notre Dame is 8-1 against Oklahoma.

No bowl games, but my favorite would be the 7-0 win at Norman in 1957 which stopped Oklahoma's 47 game win streak. And Notre Dame didn't even have a great team that year.

Notre Dame is 5-1 vs Alabama.

That includes 2 bowl wins both of which denied Alabama the national championship.
The 1973 Sugar Bowl over #1 Alabama gave #2 Notre Dame the national championsip.
The 1975 Orange Bowl win over #1 Alabama denied Bear another one.

Bear Bryant never beat Notre Dame. 0-4.

Notre Dame is 21-4 against arguably the 3 of the 6 most storied programs in history after Notre Dame (the others being Michigan and USC).
