Spider for sure, the one fight we have really seen Silva in trouble was against Hendo. GSP will nullify Jake's wrestling just like he does to everyone else and he is a more dynamic striker. Against Silva he could work the Ground and Pound like he has always done.

If Shields does sign with UFC, I would give him a good, but very beatable opponent (maybe Bisping) then give him the Title fight.
He has a snowballs chance in hell of beating Anderson. He's got a way better shot at Georges.

but what happens if Bisping beats him? The the UFC loses any value it had for Shields. I say throw him into the lions den. Give him the Spider. If Shields wins....Dana can say....."Their Champion left SF, because he wanted the best competition, and its not in SF...it's in the UFC."...
No lose situation for the UFC.

I like this line of reasoning. Give him da Spider. If he loses no harm no foul. Oh wow you lost to the P4P best in the world.
Plus it gives him an option to move down to WW. I'd like to see him go against Fitch. Keep in mind this is a most boring fight of the year candidate but it would be a good barometer for how good his "American Jiu Jitsu" really is.

Like they did with Dan Henderson when he came back to the UFC.....his first two fights were for the title in two different divisions.....LHW - loss to Rampage.....then MW - loss to the Spider.

Yeah thats true. He did have both of those titles with Dream though so they gave him a shot to unify either one of those weight divisions belts.
Those are two really tough fights to have in a new organization. Rampage then Spider.

Didn't Hendo KTFO bisping right before he lost to shields? So how does that help the UFC if Bisping wins? I say it hurts any credibility that shields would have. SF could come out and say it was fluke that shields won and that Hendo was hurt for the fight. I just think it makes more sense to put him in against Silva. That way if he loses it doesn't hurt his reputation at all.
