I thought it might be interesting to talk about relatively unknown players who you think will have breakout years for your schools. So post whatever you know or have heard about Freshmen or kids who have played some but you think will explode on the scene.

For the Sooners on defense I think Ronnell Lewis at LB will have an impact. He played 8-man football in high school and played some last year and played really well in the bowl game. Stoops calls him 'The Hammer'.

On offense Kenny Stills is a true freshman Wide Receiver from California. He enrolled early and made some really nice catches in the Spring Game. He is said to be a 4.3 guy (I never trust those numbers) but he is really quick.

Alabama - Trent Richardson

Oops, freshman for 2010.

I'd offer Seantrel Henderson, but I'm not sure who's school he'll be playing for, if at all.

Ahh, it's good to be a 'Nole...Allegedly, of course.

Tyler Russell...QB - Miss State. RS Fresh...6'4" (State finally has a QB that isn't 5'10). Rival had him 13 in country.

What, no "Ponder for Heisman" hype? I figured I'd be hearing that at least 20x a day until he got injured...

Zach Boren, FB for the Buckeyes.

July 7, 2010  07:16 PM ET

Ray Ray Armstrong Free saftey Miami.

July 7, 2010  08:09 PM ET

John Fulton DB for Alabama, Nico Johnson LB for Alabama.

July 7, 2010  09:24 PM ET

Sorry E, but who does not know about Trent? Kind of like saying Darren Evans and Ryan Williams for Va Tech

Was there a former TSUN Boren that transferred?

July 7, 2010  09:41 PM ET

Good picks on the D, BS&B.

I'll toss in RS freshman WR Andre Debose for the Gator O.

Zach's older brother transferred. Zach signed from HS. Their dad played at UM.

tOSU - Etienne Sabino. This guy is going to destroy people on defense. He'll really be the first big hitter at LB since A.J. Hawk.

I take it the Dad is not a big fan of Rich Rod.

You can probably count the Rich Rod fans on one hand, and still have fingers left over.

That, and the boys are from Ohio. Dad's allegiance was to Bo Shembechler, and Rich Rod has made sure that any traces of class left over from that man are long gone.
