First: It looks GREAT on paper, but we'll have to play some games:

Then came the news that Shiro and D Zbynek Michalek from Phoenix agreed to a 5 year deal. He is a premier shot blocking, give up his body, quick handed and great skating defensemen with solid offensive skills and can be used on the PP

Next announcement was D Paul Martin previously from NJ. Devils was inked to a 5 year deal. Unbelievable coup: 2 premium top defensemen: locked up for 5 years: In many peoples mind Martin was the best real Defenseman and his age made this signing even better:

We started off hoping to keep Gonchar and add Hamhuis: BUT I think GM Ray Shiro may have added a better; much better tandum for this team:

It's a loss: Darn Salary cap, however; I really like the signings!

I really believe we upgraded THE most important defiency on the Pens team.
