That is a shocker!

The guy he is fighting ( Sean McCorkle ) is listed at 300 lb's by Sherdog.

Thats some serious cutting, to get down to 265.

What does Hunt weigh? Has to be close to 300 also.

Sherdog has him at 280...

His last fight was against Mousasi.....he had to have had a 70 lb advantage...and still got submitted in a minute.

The fight before that, he got submitted in 18 seconds to a 190 lb fighter (Melvin Manhoef).

He may be better off fighting with people his own size.

He got KO'd by Manhoef

Interesting note I just picked up. On Danas Twitter. Someone asked Dana why Hunt was signed. He was because as part of the Pride deal they were contractually obligated to have Hunt fight.

OK, that makes more sense.

I wonder who else they have under contract from the PRIDE days.

I'm not sure, but I think they still have Igor Vovchanchyn under contract for three more fights as he had signed a deal to fight Wand at Pride 32 but Wand pulled out due to the Cro Cop KO.

They might make him a catch weight fight at 285 if he can't make 265.

According to MMAMania...Hunt signed a 4 fight deal......

But, i'm guessing it is like most UFC contracts...if you lose a fight, Dana can terminate the rest of the contract.

Igor's retired and hasn't fought in 5 years. They might as well have Joe Frazier under contract as well :-p

I can't wait to see Mark Hunt fight. I want to hear Goldie refer to him as "the greatest kickboxer in HISTORY, in the BIGGEST PRELIM FIGHT EVER IN THE UFC!"

So many good guys getting cut from the UFC and now they are going to give a chance to Mark Hunt, who is obviosuly past his prime?

Still, the man's a vicious striker, one of the all-time K-1 greats, who can knock anyone out.

Plus, so much lay 'n pray these days in MMA in the USA, that I am actually kind of happy they signed a striker.

And lets not get too carried away.

This guy outstruck Cro Cop in Mirko's PRIDE Prime and was a K-1 standout.

Also came VERY close to getting Fedor with an Americana and is strong, fast and owns one of the most devastating left hooks in all of MMA history.

I'd LOVE to see him fight Yvel, Cro Cop and James Toney.

Just because he ain't #1 and never will be doesn't mean he won't be fun to watch.

Pat Barry and Todd Duffee would also be nice opponents for him.
