Who did Cleveland get back in that "trade"?
What do you mean? This was not a trade, it is "Free Agency"! Cleveland gets nothing in return.
People should really know what they are talking about before they post on something that they have no idea what they are talking about.
This whole Miami Heat team as it is now was planed bye these three back in 2006. The Heat management knew the whole time this is why they were clearing CAP room for the past two years I hope the NBA will take notice of this kind of crap the New York Knicks even was clearing room also but they got a slap in teh face just like CLEVELAND did
So what you're saying was Bosh, Lebron, and Wade got together in 2006, shut up idiot, there are so many ways to tear that apart. I'm sure that was everyone on the planet new when the free agent year was coming and new to clear space to get a chance at some good players. But you right Cleveland I feel the worst for, because they had everything he needed, family, the money, but maybe not enough talenet to get through orlando, and boston.

Its like having Michael Jordan (lebron) Scottie Pippen (kobe) and Shaq (bosh).
HAHAHA, SERIOUSLY?? LEBRON IS AND NEVER WILL BE A JORDAN... KOBE IS THE CLOSEST TO THAT. CALLING KOBE SCOTTIE PIPPIN IS LIKE CALLING PEYTON MANNING CHAD PENNINGTON AND BOSH WILL NEVER BE ON THE LEVEL THAT SHAQ WAS...NEVER

lebron just made a decision to do what i right for him...we can't help it if everyone else around him is sourgraping over what he did...it was his choice to make...kinda funny that they promised him unconditional love in cleveland, yet they spurn him mightily for what he did...damn hypocrites...lebron did his time as a cav, and now its time to move on...the same thing the rest of the basketball world needs to do...and that's move on, as well.
to the nitpickers i know Lebron is not Jordan, and Scotties not Kobe, and Bosh is not Shaq, i'm saying 3 of the best in the league. So try not to take the whole comment so literal. And of Course I know Riley is not a gangsta, but try to read through the line and understand the tag.
Ok... first like others have pointed out and it bears repeating, this was not a trade.
Second, OP needs a bit of a spelling and grammar refresher as his posts are painful to read. Lastly, LBJ has announced to the basketball world that he is a classless punk. And to top it off he's not a winner either. If he was the second coming of MJ he would have made the Cav's win a championship. He would have stayed and made the team better by restructuring his contract to bring in a top tier guy to take a bit of the pressure off. But he didn't he opted for the easy route and went to DWades team... note it is DWades team and will never be LBJ's.
He's a pansy and that's the jist of it

This has to be the most poignant response I've seen to date.
Bravo sir, bravo.

Some of the best trades are those that never happened.

While I agree with you, it is not much that he left. but it is HOW he left. a one hour special to talk about how good he was. And then the suspense.
He should have been a man and told Cleveland he would leave and give them time to prepare. Now he left them with a sour taste, heavy contracts and nothing else. He could have at least been square instead of playing "let's make me the center of attention for a couple of months and let everyone hold their breaths until I say what I want" crap.
If people beat MJ for his speech at the HoF introduction, I think LBJ just toppled that. And he is still playing.
I know there are a lot of Kobe haters. but at least he never pull a crap like that.

Cleveland got 2 first round picks and two second rounds picks from miami.... was "technically" a trade..
If this was illegal just what does anyone propose should be done about it so that it can't happen again without destroying our American Freedoms? Unethetical yes, they did a dirty deed but it's not illegal. Just root harder for your team when the Heat come to town and they will crumble like a house of cards. These spoiled brats won't be able to withstand the pressure. Go Bulls!!!

I wish people would shut up about how he left, and how it was classless. The tv programme was called "the decision". Leading up to that programme, most pundits had Lebron staying in cleveland. For twists in a programme, i thought it was actually good!
LBJ is not a slave, he has the right to play for any team he wants to, remember he's a free agent , did he not honor his contact with the cav's? You cant down a man for doing whats best for him. If LBJ is what you say he is then why would the cav's want to resign him. People are acting like cry babies and need to stop. No one will ever be MJ,LB,M.Johnson, but like millions of children playing bb you want to be like mike cause he was the best. I cant play bb but still when I shot the ball I pretended to be Jordan, or would say "Jordan" when my shot went in. The bulls kick MJ out and the Chicago fans still supported the Bulls and Cleveland fans need to do the same if they love their team. The cav's owner who think he's a slave master is a classless punk. LBJ never said he was the 2nd coming of MJ, the media did as they done with many other players like Grant Hill, Kobe and dont forget baby Jordan aka Harold Miner. LBJ said he was the King and now he's the king of Heat. Check out the Miami news papers, the have a picture of LBJ in the front and DW and CB in the back over each of LBJ shoulders. The headline read Miami New King. Just like when Shaq came to the heat Dw handed over the team and he will do the same with LBJ to win another ring. Remember he took less money, less money to win. LBJ should be a hero because he put winning 1st. I bet you one thing, love LBJ or hate him you'll be watching the heat games.
arkus...you are wrong it was a trade get your facts right it was a sign and trade both bosh and LBJ were traded to the heat getting first and second round picks and a $14.5M trade expemtion from the heat
