NFL  > General NFL  > My Dog Is Badder Than Yours

Bio: Szazha, 14 years old, 84 in dog years, Hungarian Vizsla, retired squirrel-catching extraordinaire.

ESPN Top 10 Moment: Once chased a big red squirrel across the yard and as it headed up the walnut tree she jumped at full stride and yanked it off a branch, shook it, and it was curtains for squirrely. Honorable mention was barking at a bear in the mountains instead of running for the hills.

Top Speed: Very friggin' fast in her day....like a racehorse, gliding, and excellent juker.

Best attribute: Killer smile and can hold 3 tennis balls in her mouth at same time. Honorable mention is her point and ability to tiptoe when sneaking up on prey.

Bread and Butter: The art of the fetch. She used to be happy doing it all day long. Sadly, can't fetch anymore due to hip dysplasia.

NFL football player she's most like in her prime: I'll stick with my all-time favorite Charger on this one, Bambi, Lance Alworth - she is sleek and fit and has a sure catching mouth like he had sure hands, could catch a tennis ball thrown hard directly at her. And she had Bambi's speed, grace, and elusiveness in route running. Sorry I'm comparing a female dog to you, Lance... but it's mid July and there's damned near no new football news to talk about.

No. of career TDs scored had she played NFL football: 97

Can she pick up a football in mouth? Not a regulation one - Kid's football or Nerf, yes. Had she played in the NFL she would have adapted.

Has she ever worn a Chargers' sweater? Yes. And some gal cut up one of my Chargers' shirts for her, too. Nearly grounds for X-nay.

Does she look like me? No. Some dogs do look like their owners, though.

Any other dog owners out there? What can I say? FN NFL is boring as all getout today, no new threads, and Szazha's sitting here watching me type so I couldn't resist...hahaha. Oh what the hell....I guess I'll open it to cats or whatever else you might have or had as well, but ain't no cat badder than Szazha, that's for sure.

When I read your headline I was hoping this wasn't Vick territory. After reading your rather bizarre story about your dog which you obviously think the world of, can't say comparing my dogs to NFL players ever came to mind but it is July and you did open the door for people to talk about dogs.

I now have a multi-acre spread in Blue Diamond and numerous dogs from the shelter now roam freely, building a new house and don't want any materials growing feet and leaving the site.
Looking to add a couplee of Boxer mixes, not pure because they are just too dumb, lovable but dumb as a box of rocks.
With our weather conditions certain breeds would just live a life of misery, pretty much short hair breeds only around here.
I am building a cave like dog house that will be huge and keep em cool on days like today and warm on those mornings in winter.

That pure bred with papers stuff is just a big load of craqola to me.

Don't Breed or Buy While Shelter Dogs Die.

My wife and I got a Pug 3 months after we were married, he wound up being like one of our kids and was with us for 17 years, old age finally got him.

We since adopted a Pit Bull mix breed he has a little American Bull Dog, Pit, Dalmatian in him. He's mostly black with a white spotted head and white paws and tip of his tale. He stands about knee high and weighs in about 80 lbs. We've had him about three years now and couldn't ask for a better dog.

QUOTE(#20):

Do they do much farming / raising livestock out there around Blue Diamond?

In a word, no.
This is the desert 20 minutes out of Vegas, nothing grows around here but stage brush, unless you plant it and water it regularly.
