And I quote from the 2nd article:

[i]"The glorification of the SEC can be blamed on numerous things. One reason is CBS??? Verne Lundquist and Gary Danielson and their Joseph Goebbels ways of hyping the SEC as the far superior conference. However, the worst offenders would have to be the fans. Yes, the fans. Also known as the t-shirt fans. SEC fans hop aboard on the bandwagon of whichever of their teams is highest ranked or making noise. In other words, like LeBron, the fans will take their ???talents??? to the next team and so on.

LMAO!!!!!

SEC is the anti-Lebron during the SEC dominance of the BCS. The SEC produces winners, last thing Lebron won was a State HS championship.

4 straight titles. 6 out of 12. And the SEC commish argues for a playoff while the victims (Big 10 and Big 12) fight it. Beat an SEC in the BCS championship game before claiming hype.

Hype was the title game between tOSU and Michigan in 06-07 and OU-Tx in 08-09. Win first then talk about how the SEC is all hype. I remember that UF would not have a shot against tOSU and OU before the games.

Oh yeah UT, win your State Championship then complain about losing out of BCS champ game.

6 out of 12 isn't that impressive... lol. tOSU is 1/8 for wins 3/8 for tries.. right? I mean.. we have been almost as many times as you're CONFERENCE has won. It seems bad, but we have been more than the Pac 10 / Big East / ACC. Alone. Just us. tOSU is pulling in 37.5% of the national championship appearances. :)

Some think you need to win it all, when in actuality making the title game is an accomplishment in it's own as well. :D I am not proud that we lost those two title games, but we went and that counts for something. You can say that we 'didn't show up', but we showed up more than Texas did those years, or OU did those years, or USC... You see my point? ;)

You should read the next paragraph of the article. It's even better:

"In the end, all the SEC accomplishments in the last couple of years are worth as much as Reggie BushYou should read the next paragraph of the article. It's even better:

[i]"In the end, all the SEC accomplishments in the last couple of years are worth as much as Reggie Bush???s Heisman Trophy. The lack of competitive talent in the SEC has given the last couple of national champions an easier path to the title than any other conference. While the Pac 10, Big 12 and Big 10 are busy playing real football, the SEC has been lead by maybe one or two decent teams that would surely be at the bottom of any other conference. Like LeBron, programs like Alabama and Florida surround themselves with scrubs to look completely dominant and note worthy."

The "lack of competitive talent in the SEC has given the last couple of national champions an easier path to the title" doesn't even make sense and it's quite possibly the dumbest thing I've read regarding CFB. It just goes to show that, whatever you believe in, you'll find it somewhere out there on the internet.

Say what?

The argument was that the SEC has been 6 times to the NC out of 12 games...not sure where/how you are getting 1/8 and 3/8....and 3 isn't that impressive....OU has been 4, FSU has been 3, LSU, FL, U$C and TU have been 2.

And can you explain this statement? but we showed up more than Texas did those years, or OU did those years, or USC. Sorry, I'm just a hick from Miss and ain't afollering ya here.

Oh I get it it's the old like kissing your sister theory. Yeah I get it, it's better to get there and lose than not to get there. Who knew.

So how did tOSU "show up" more than TU and OU? tOSU has only been to the big dance 3 times, TU been there 2 and OU 4....figures don't support the argument I am seeing..

Miami went 5 for7 in NC games. Just thought I'd throw that in there. And for the record just making it there and not winning does'nt mean ****.

In the BCS? I don't think so....and before that there weren't any "championship games"....so we can throw that back out.

Unless your team is the winner, being there and not winning means that the loser of the NCG was better than your team...as far as the current format plays out....if your team isn't in the NCG it wasn't 1 or 2.

As a friend once said.....his school was UTn - Chattanooga and was in the NCAA BB tournament - lost in the first round. His team lost the first game so I was ragging him about it...his response was "well...let's see how well your team is doing"....OU wasn't in the tournament that year...showed me to be careful with what I say.... :)

And in 2011, it will shrink even more to the Big Ten specifically, just by the simple addition of Nebraska to the Big Ten.Big Ten envy will become the new SEC envy.

In 2011, the Big 10 will most likely have a CG that rivals the SEC CG for an event. However, there will be a very very very good UF team waiting for the nation. If the cards fall like I think they will, watch out for the 2011 Gator squad.

IMHO this year will be a similar year to 2007 in the SEC, UF's offense will have speed all over the field and score a lot of points but UF's defense will most likely get exposed by a hard running SEC West team (Bama at Bama like LSU at LSU in 07) that will play keep away. Unlike 2007 there will be a rematch in Atlanta because the SEC East might be as weak as the Big 12 North.

Go after Bama. The only SEC team with a losing BCS record is Bama.

Ok - so do you get your butts kicked when you play Arkansas? What are your thoughts. Are you tough enought to stay in the game for a quarter?

A debut comment with both guns blazing. How unique. I wonder who it's directed at.
