Thanks guys.
Sorry E, but I'm too cheap to pay for any of the subscription sites, so I can't help you. I would if I could.
The ESPN insider is OK, did that last year didn't renew. A ton of CFB on it.

I think that is why I'm putting it on my birthday list. I won't get it for myself. But thanks.
Have heard mixed views on which ones are good and which aren't. Phil steele was on Rivals and initially his site sounded good but then saw some reviews of it and now .... Also heard mixed on scout and rivals. I post on a Bama (unpaid) forum on Scouts occasionally and it seems that there is definitely some "inside" information that comes down from there. Have heard the same on Rivals. But the question is whether it is worth it.
My other thought is if I don't do this to have him upgrade the cable to add the sports package. Up until a few weeks ago our cable included CBS College Sports, ESPN news, ESPN classic and I know Fox Sports South as well as Fox Sports Pacific. But all of these have now been lumped into a "package" which will also include the Big 10 network.
There are "household" items that I know that I should probably ask for but I'm tired of using my birthday for say a vacuum or whatever. Want something that is for me and is something I would enjoy. (Not that I don't just luvvvv to vacuum ...)

Dinner at the Salt Lick and a show at Antone's. The town you live in is a few miles the far side of heaven; just enjoy it.
so why then is it hotter than hell?

Salt Lick is great. At least they now have one that is not so far out. But my hubbie won't go to the one closest to us if there is a Round Rock Express baseball game. The new Salt Lick is at the corner of the stadium parking lot and my hubbie doesn't do the crowds.
Now what I call the "real" Salt Lick is terrific. The first BBQ that we had in Austin, when we were interviewing for the job. My husband came here with a startup and they had a mass interview weekend and took everyone out to Salt Lick. We took up a couple of benches. It was a big selling point.

I would recommend the Bama version of GatorCountry.com. They do have all the scoops, especially during spring practice.
If looking a cable package besides the SEC network stuff if it is not free, I would recommend whatever is showing Super 14 rugby (was Fox Sports World). It is super high quality rugby and is very exciting once you learn the "laws".

I like rugby but Aussie "footie" Rules. Wish I could find a channel that showed Aussie Rules football. We got hooked on it when we lived in Australia but have found it hard to follow here in the states.

QUOTE(#12):
Go hiking along Barton Creek. Go skiing on Lake Travis. Take pictures. Post them for the rest of us.::JRM misses Austin::
What I like to do is ride around Lake Travis with my hubbie on his motorcycle. Unfortunately right now the hubbie is limited after re-injuring his ankle. Oh well.
We love Austin for the most part. There are a lot of places to go and things to do. The hubbie has said he would like to move away from here once the last of our kids graduate from high school. ( in 5 or so years). His company would allow him to work from home anywhere we wanted but he wants to move back to where he grew up in Louisiana. A city that is only about 20,000 outside of the university. I said, when the town grows to where it has what Austin has to offer then we can move but otherwise....

And on reviews of different sites....reminds me of when I was in High School...the "reviews" of which girl was "easy" and which was "prude" never seemed to be truthful.
What one person doesn't like about Phil Steele, or Rivals, or whatever might not match up with you. If your gut was Steele, then go with that for a while...see for yourselve.
And have a wonderful, joyous birthday.
E- Happy birthday!
I wish I had sites to recommend, but I don't really do online subscriptions...
I can do research though, for you, if you want. I am all about research these days.

Thanks.
I actually think that I'm going to go with the sports package on cable. It will actually get me a lot more games during the season. Especially with the Big 10 channel.
