NBA  > General NBA  > Lakers Looking to Trade Sasha Vujacic...Trail Blazers looking for a fast trade involving Rudy Fernandez
July 28, 2010, 11:21 PM
LA expects to re-sign Shannon Brown within the next 1-2 weeks, but that may mean having to let Vujacic go. Reports the Plain Dealer: ???Sources said Lakers are trying to trade Sasha Vujacic wfirst round pick to get his salary off books. They tried to do it for Delonte West. If they move Vujacic, and there???s a decent chance they will, Brown will likely be back in LA.

At the urging of Rudy Fernandez and his agent, the Trail Blazers have engaged in accelerated trade discussions to deal the disgruntled, once-popular shooting guard to one of three Eastern Conference teams. Boston, Chicago and New York are all in the running to land the 6-foot-6 Spaniard, who set an NBA rookie record two seasons ago by making 159 three-pointers.

Fernandez, 25, is unhappy in Portland because of limited playing time behind All-Star Brandon Roy and because of the playing style of coach Nate McMillan, who primarily used Fernandez as an outside shooter, not the playmaker Fernandez believes he can be in the NBA.

Any trade ideas? I have one......

A three team deal between the Portland Trailblazers, Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Lakers can take place where the following players will be involved in this trade.

The Portland Trailblazers will trade away Rudy Fernandez and Joel Przybilla to the Chicago Bulls.

The Chicago Bulls would give up James Johnson and Taj Gibson, placing James Johnson in Portland and Taj Gibson in L.A.

The Los Angeles Lakers will trade Sasha Vujacic to the Portland Trailblazers.

Therefore:

Portland acquires Sasha Vujacic and James Johnson
Chicago acquires Rudy Fernandez and Joel Przybilla
L.A. Lakers acquires Taj Gibson

Delonte West was waived by the T-Wolves. Lakers should trade Vujacic somehow. Then sign Delonte West to back up Fisher.

Don't know if Phil wants to deal with Ron Ron and Delonte in one locker room. But if so, Delonte would be a nice back up to Kobe. But where would that put Shannon Brown?

They should go after Rudy F. Good spark off the bench

Would be nice, but don't think Portland will work a trade with the Lakers. Same conference. Then again, if it did happen, where would that put Shannon Brown?
