We have 7 participants so far.

I'm hoping we can get 16 by tomorrow.

If we get to 12 I'll set it up like the NFL playoffs.

If we get to 10 or 14, I'll think of something.

If we get to 14 members, the loser that was closest in vote total to his opponent will move on.

If there is a tie, it will go to the one that received the most votes, then there will be 8 left in the second round and no need for more passes.

10 is going to be more complicated...
