NBA  > General NBA  > Shaq to the C's?
August 3, 2010, 11:06 PM
They (apparently) do not have enough old guys, so they are about to add Shaq.
On the other hand, they will have a "big 4" plus Rondo (the only young guy, but then again he is the fast one on this team, and not shy from being the big 5)

What do you think?

I can think of great possibilities. For one, the C's will finaly get some calls at the Center position (no refree ever gave perkins any respect).

So... could they now keep their top spot? Will it backfire on them (don't forget they had 'Sheed, so they are experienced in keeping trouble guys in check)

Anyways, SOUND OFF FN!!!

Will be interesting to see how Boston splits the minutes when Kendrick Perkins comes back

the big leprechaun will probably play spotty minutes and have Perkins out while he rests.
I don't think Shaq will be starter, but he will probably be out on the floor as soon as Perkins gets into Faul trouble (which is frequent enough) :)

Well, he will be a nice back up to Perkins, just hopefully he can accept that role in the near future.

He already has stated he is happy doing whatever the team needs and he will probably start while perkins is out which will apease any ego issues. You can bet good money doc has had his usual converstion with him, as he did with all of the other vet's they have added in the past and not had a problem with. Doc knows how to tap into players and you may even be suprised at the shaq you see the first 20 games or so. He will actually get a rest right when he needs it from perkins and coast like he likes to do for the last half of the season anyway.

Shaq is a great add for them and will harass Howard in the 2nd round and step on Bosh in the conference finals. I see him becoming even more of an around the basket defensive player in this system maybe even getting a bit dirty and mean as this team has not been scared of harassing other teams. My bet is Doc will also have him focus on defensive rebounding as they need improvement in that area. Would be funny if Boston comes out of the East again then we can watch L "baby" J - leave the flour in anger again!

You know, if Shaq and the Celtics can co-exist together throughout the season, I have no doubt that the Celtics and Lakers will once again meet in the finals. Because Boston has a solid rotation, they are my favorites in the east.
