I realy think the this is the eagles year to win it all our divison is weak and the team and the only team in the NFC is the New Orleans Saints
Pats look great on paper. Are they the best in the AFC?
Yea, im def scared of the pats. if they can win w/ brady, branch, and dillon, why cant they win w/ brady, stallworth, moss, and maroney?
The way the schedule is set up, the Eagles could very well find a way to get homefield advantage comes the post season. Injuries of course are what I'd be concerned with, especially with McNabb, Spikes, and Kearse. But we've got the best team in the division, and the NFC is usually wide open when it comes to #1 and #2 seeds. So why not the Eagles?
Pats are making a desperate grasp for that last hurrah like the Eagles did with T.O. (dare I mention that name?) The Super Bowl is there for the taking. The Eagles can win it as much as anyone else with the right preparation, timing and some good "breaks" going our way.
"Why not the Eagles?" is definitely an appropriate rallying cry for this year. The AFC is loaded, but truly, who stands out in the NFC? The class of the conference are the Bears, Saints, Seahawks, Cowboys and maybe Panthers. But you can't really say any of these teams are any better than the others. The Bears dominated last season, but seem intent on destroying the team they've built. Any of these teams could come out on top, and with the Eagles' veteran, playoff-tested core, I see no reason why not us.
Sorry, I actually left out the Eagles when listing the class of the conference!
Anybody who believes this newest rumor probably has a mental problem. Now that thats out of the way I want 2 talk some Eagle football! Anybody have any thoughts now that the first minicamp is over?
I know the season is way too far away when I'm even getting excited about our special teams. But, imagine a punter that has 60+ yards bombs with hang time hovering 6+ seconds. And then you add our white chocolate version of Steve Smith returning kick-offs and punts... that puts our defense and offense in great field positions. Something we haven't had in a while.
Combine that with a deeper backfield and more experienced wideouts... not to mention a revamped D-line and LB core.
Anyone else getting shivers?
I'm not ready to say I've got ants in my pants yet, but come training camp I'll start getting pumped to the point where I wake up every morning chanting E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES!
I'm with you guys. I get goosebumps thinking about the potential of this team. McNabb should come back with a vengance, Reggie Brown is way underrated, O-line + B-west = Fearsome running attack. The list goes on and on. Possible up there in talent with the '04 team.
I cant wait till this season. We will win SBXLII. Nostradamus said.
