I don't understand how people want a rematch... yes Sonnen was winning the fight but it's not like it was a blown call that cost him the fight, it was his lack of knowing how to defend submissions which he has shown time and time again he has no clue how to defend. Why force feed us Sonnen vs. Silva II... Give us Vitor Vs. Silva let Sonnen fight someone else for a #1 contenders fight and then give him a title shot if he wins that.

As long as SPider can pull another last minute SUB, then Spider can beat him again. Just like I said going in, Silva isn't going to TKO Sonnen and SOnnen is too Strong on the ground....I like the fact that he didn't stall out the fight for the DEC but he was definately winning the fight 5 rds to 1. Good fight!
It's not the be all end all fight that reporters seem to think it is though. Plus, I'm not happy that Silva made excuses for his poor performance right away...sounded like Ortiz responding.

GSP isn't no where near as big as Sonnen and I really doubt he would beable to hit/hurt Silva the way Sonnen did in the first round... if GSP put on some weight I would pick him but at the same time who knows if him putting on those extra 15 pounds would hurt his speed.

I don't thin Chael should get an immediate rematch because it wasn't a decision, but I think questionable decision warrent an immediate rematch.

I think Sonnen will get KOed the second time around. I'd say 1st or 2nd round. Thats what I predict but not crazy about the auto-rematch.

But I don't agree with this "recipe" thing.
it is not as simple as "just put some wrestler and he can beat Silva".
The spider fought plenty of wrestlers.
Let's also not forget that Sonnen dominated the likes of Yushin Okami and Nate Marquardt with ease, and I defy anyone to pick people who could easily do that to those guys.
I mean, it is the same as getting one of the Klitschko brothers fight Lesnar and after he KO's Lesnar say "See? Strikers can beat Lesnar! Where's Kongo?"
Now, on the fight itself, the spider did seem lethargic. Yes, Sonnen is great, but come on. The first time Silva put the body triangle was on the 5th round... The first 4 he was just going with the punches...
I don't know if it was an excuse or not, but if he was hurt, it could explain a bit. and yes, it might sound like Tito, but let's not forget: He said he was hurt, but he won. Tito uses the excuse as to why he lost... the spider didn't need to offer any excuse. he won.
How can you say Anderson can beat Chael again? He got dominated him for 4.5 half rounds.
