deron williams is the most underrated player in the nba. he takes the jazz to the playoffs every year and into the second and third round and yet no one notices him as the games best pg. which he is. im sick if hearing about d rose and cp3 and even john wall. they have done nothing. rose never past the first round, paul injury ridden, john wall hasnt even played in the nba and everyone thinks he will be the best. but rajon rondo has done something so him and deron are the best pg's in the nba. most overrated player in the nba, chris bosh. ya hes a great player but has done nothing in his seven year carreer besides try and fill up his stats. the raptors cant even be a .500 team and he still is in the running for mvp every year. its dumb. he is the most overrated player in the nba
For overrated I would agree with Bosh as if he is as great as he is made out to be his team's would have been better. Not to say he is bad, but this off-season he was made out to be as if he was on the same level as James or Wade.

I agree Bosh is overrated but there is no way Williams is underrated. He is universally seen as a top 3 if not top 2 PG with CP3. Just b/c you think he is better than Paul doesn't make him underrated. Most underrated IMO is Brandon Roy with an honorable mention going to Jason Thompson and Carl Landry.

Brandon roy is most underrated and it comes from his lack of obvious athletic plays and lack of speed as well as being in a small market. He reminds me of modern version of larry bird, in a way, seems like one of the slower players on the floor, not a typical athlete, etc - but when he wants to get by someone or get his shot he does.
Overrated player is by far and away LBJ only cuz he pushes the "king" yet he decided to become a Jester on King Wades court. By conversation and media hype though Bosh is high on the list as well as Howard in my opinion until he can do more then dunk (hence why Magic will loose to teams that figure it out like boston).
And CP3 is a very different gaurd then Deron - just merely look at how well his fellow players, do when they are on a different team, Deron is a scorer that can pass CP3 is a passer that can score -depends on what you need.

What about some stars that have been pretty much under the radar just go to my Spurs, but they don't seek the lime light.
LeBron.
Oh ... oh ... oh ... "he can drive to the basket like no other." Big whoop. They said the same things about Dominique Wilkins the "Human Highlight Reel".
Win something then claim your crown.

He has won something. NBA Rookie of the Year, 2 MVP's, a scoring title, etc. He also won all of those games with a very weak supporting cast.
Everyone acts as though all of the greats have done it by themselves. Magic had Kareem, Jordan had Pippen and Jackson, Kobe had Shaq, still has Phil, and now Pau. I don't blame him for wanting to play for an organization that will help him win.

Most underrated IMO goes to Tim Duncan. Overrated goes to Amar'e Stoudemire.

I believe Nash played a key role in Amar'e becoming what he is today and I think he is going to struggle in New York when he is expected to be the GUY

I personally believe that Derrick Rose is underrated. He has mad skills but doesn't get enough credit for them!!

For sure. NYK don't have a player like Nash to consistently give him the ball in prime spots for easy baskets.
HAHA, that's a bit of a long list for overrated players in the NBA. It's full of ego's.
Overrated.... I'd go with Bosh. I've been a Raps fan since the get go and he's a good 4 man. Nothing else. He was appointed the reigns once Wince left, because, well there wasn't alot of other options for them.
Underrated.... I like the pick of Roy. But I also agree with Rose. I know Rose gets a lot of attention but living in Canada I haven't really even seen him play outside of the playoffs last season.
My pick would be Kaman.

How is Bosh ovverrated he averaged about 24 and 10 shooting over 50%. If I recall KG was doing tha on Minnesota before he came to Boston. People say Bosh is soft but have no proof to bavk that up. It just sounds ike a petty excuse to underrate a top3 pf in the league.

He isn't overrated. People expect a pf to lead the team by himself? When the hell has a pf by himself ever lead his team far. KG made first round exits until he got Sprewell etc.. but I don't see anyone calling him overrated. He played very well (like Bosh has) but people are now saying he's soft wth no proof and claim he is overrated because he played very well on a bad team. Expecting a pf to make his team go far is a stupid thought.

No, I have always said he's soft. The guy didn't know how to play with his team. He was a blackhole on offense. When you have the team that he did last year there is no reason why Bosh should get the ball in the post EVERY time when you have Hedo on the perimeter.
KG could at least lift his team.
If you have watched their games the last few years and know anything about the game... well, I wouldn't be commenting back.
And it's easy to be one of the top 3 4 men in the league when you yourself say he played on a bad team.
Put any decent player on a bad team and make them the focus, no **** they're going to average 20-10.

This is exactly why I think he is overrated. He was the best player on a bad team putting up very good numbers. Its hard to gauge how good he is until he has talent around him and therefore putting him as a top 2 or 3 PF in the league makes him overrated. He is still behind Dirk, TD, Garnett, and Gasol. I have him on the same level as Randolph, a guy who puts up good stats on terrible teams

overrated - shaq - at this stage of his career he should retire!!
underrated - deron williams - it's the coachs system in utah the pg will be underrated - install a lot of team work and that's what happens

One name... Tim Duncan. End of conversation.
