MMA  > General MMA  > It's making me so sick!!!

I am getting so tired of hearing people complain about both Fitch and tehn definately GSP!

These guys are fighting top caliber opponents and haters only remeber what they last saw. GSP has finished 13 of his fights by either TKO or stoppage. That's 65% of his fights finished against guys that are "supposed" to be the next best thing to the champion. Some would say that GSPs two loses (though loses) ....never mind that thought.

Fitch has won 11 of his 22 wins putting him at 50%. Now that not great but being over 50% is good, not great, but better than a lot of folks out there.

I hope GSP makes short work of Koscheck. I really don't care to see a GSP v Fitch rematch because Fitch would be totally out classed again. Last time Fitch proved he could take a beating and still had the heart to keep coming! Both fights, not being able to finish Fitch or Alves....that's nothing to scoff at. Any one of us on here would lose to all 3 of them and probably not by way of DEC.

Without looking how many has GSP won by KO,TKO, or submission since being knocked silly by Serra?

August 11, 2010  12:10 PM ET

Interesting funny fact... Looking at GSP's record on Wilkipedia it says he is 20-7 with 7 wins by KO, 5 by Sub, and 7 by Dec....

Doesn't that equal 19? 7+7+5= 19

Let me see if without looking I can recall all the opponents:

Koscheck-Dec
Serra-TKO (damn, I was wrong!)
Fitch-Dec
Penn-TKO (Damn! Double wrong)
Alves-Dec
Hardy-Dec

GSP has played it safe for quite a while now, and Fitch's last 130 minutes in the cage have been all decisions.

Holy crap!

Thats more than two hours he has spent in the cage!

August 11, 2010  12:25 PM ET

Hardy-Dec
Alves-Dec
Penn-TKO
Fitch-Dec
Serra-TKO
Hughes-Sub
Kos-Dec

So 4 of his 7 total Dec victories have come since having his bell rung against Serra. At the same time he is still finishing fights as well. He tried to finish the Hardy fight, its just a case of Hardy refusing to tap.

I think people are unfair.
I think the issue is not really that he is boring (he is one guy who is never warned by the referee that he would stand the guys up if he doesn't move.
I mean he is constantly working and passing guard, etc.

HOWEVER, I do think people call it boring because there's no emotion.
It is always the same thing. GSP dominating and outworking the other fighter.

The fact he doesn't finnish just prolongs a fight where there's no emotion.

So it is not GSP. it is just the fact he is that good and is never in trouble.

Doesn't matter when he won them but he scored two TKOs, one against Serra in their second fight and one against Penn.

No BS about Penn not being a TKO allowed. If you make a man quit on his stool then IMO thats worse than a SUB or TKO.

20-7? Wiki is a **** source. He has loses in strictly grappling tournaments but those don't transfer to MMA.

I totally forgot about Hughes.

Calm down Krypto. I was just showing people that he does win by other tha Dec... I was actually taking his side... hahahahahahaha..... Notice how I said the Hardy fight should have been a Sub win as well.

And that was my purpose of posing the question..... Most people just think he is only winning by Decisions.... Which isn't the case at all..

I know I talk smack about GSP but I do really like him and respect him as a fight/person. He is a very very good fighter but he is SO boring to watch lately. He dominates his opponents but he NEVER finishes them anymore since he got domed by Serra.

He needs to have confidence in his hands too not just wrestling.

well, he does try to finnish.
It is not like he lays there and wait for the ref to stand them up.

The only problem I see is that he does not stand & bang anymore which he did before. Now he goes straight to takedowns. but can't fault him for that... I mean, that is his bread & butter...

You misunderstood:

Wiki does not say he has 7 losses.

It says that he has seven wins by decision.
